This is a poll to ask a question that I'd like you to answer. Do not answer your personal thoughts. Answer the question. The question is simple. When the offseason began you thought we needed a defensive lineman. The team has added four guys in the secondary, three linebackers and no linemen.

Do you think the people who coach our team have a better grasp of what was weak last year than you do? That's it.

I'm not asking you to evaluate whether Vinny knows squat. I'm not talking about Dan Snyder or even Joe Gibbs. Do you believe, honestly, as fans that YOU know more about what defenses we're running, what the players are asked to do, and evaluating those players points to a certain weakness more than Gregg Williams, Greg Blache, Jerry Gray, Kirk Olividotti and Steve Jackson?

If you answer yes, you may believe you better understand our defenses, play calls, playbook and needs. If you answer no, AND you say we need a defensive lineman still, apologize to the rest of us . Please. .

This is a public poll that should have 100 percent in one category. It's called rigging the deck. There IS a reason we didn't pick up any defensive lineman this offseason to this point. Once you answer, you'll probably be free enough to answer what that reason is and, as a kind man, I'll tell you.

It's that the defensive line was the LEAST of our needs or concerns last year and while it IS aging, and it WILL need more bodies, the fact remains, the secondary and linebacker needed both things much, much more right NOW. You can't do everything, every year. But you also can't deny our priorities weren't clear and well executed.

I can only imagine what that guy is talking about. He appears to be a pretty sorry guy.

I am sure they are winning the superbowl again. There is no way joe gibbs could ever have a losing season. I mean right? We have heard that every year since january of 04.

The Skins put up 19 sacks last year, the first time since 2003 that ANY team had failed to post at least 20 sacks... that total was six sacks lower than the next worst team... but Art doesn't think the Skins needed to address their pass rush...

That stance alone demonstrates that he knows next to nothing about football...

Won't speak for others cuz I've got no beef with the guy. Never met him. Never had a convo with him. But his logic and ability to seemingly justify every move the Skins make is amusing to watch. The way he twists everything to where he's ALWAYS right is just pure poetry in motion. I applaud the man.

He wrote something about how great an 'idea' archuleta was, just that it didn't work out. But he quoted the idea as brilliant, and claimed that for tthat, the front office was right.

But that doesn't matter. I think it's a great idea to have a QB. Doesn't mean I am above reproach if I choose Quincy Carter to be my QB.

I don't understand the point of having a message board if his response to any and all criticism is "just have faith in the coaching staff."

I thought the role of a moderator was to facilitate discussion. His main focus seems to be to shut discussion and debate down.

And to SkinsHokies... I don't think we're obsessed with ES any more than y'all are obsessed with the Cowboys and CZ. I know from experience that I've had threads I've started over here that were brought over to the ES board and discussed at length there. It's part of the rivalry. As for Art specifically... what can I say, he's a big target.
