He is more talented than Romo. I would trade romo to the shreveport team today for Carter as a backup and then sign a starter to play this season.

Don't give me that BS.

Why don't we just open up all of our prisons and let everyone run around? After all, all humans make mistakes, so who are we to judge?

I'll make sure all the death row inmates and child molesters move to your block since you are so understanding that human frality must be forgiven.

Screw that noise.

I can live up the standards I'm holding this worthless POS up to. That is, I haven't pissed away my life, and I don't blame others instead of taking personal responsibility when I screw things up.

If the guy honestly accepted the fact that this poor performance on the field and off is his fault and his fault only, and fully accepted that he has no one to blame in this world but himself, then I would acknowledge that repentance and not feel he is a worthless scumbag.

But until he does that, he is worthless in the platonic sense. He is a sorry person who tried to blame his failures on us, the fans, by accusing us of all being racist. He blamed the franchise for doing what any sane franchise would do. He is now blaming the police for doing their job.

There is such thing as a concept of moral worth. We, as moral human beings, have the ability to and the obligation to make moral judgments in life. We establish mores by what we esteem and condemn. And if we esteem this punk without his acceptance of personal responsibility instead of condemn him, then we engage in an act of intellectual and moral disarmanent.

So take your namby-pamby nonsense about how we all make mistakes and seriously think how absurd this world would be if we truly accepted that bit of fluff and refused to ever condemn anyone else.

Yeah I hear ya, taking someone elses life and molesting childern ranks right up there with smoking marijuana. You've called this man every name in the book, including worthless what exactly has he done, he hasn't hurt anyone but himself and your feeling I guess.
You can't make me believe you are perfect so save the effort.Your life isn't put on display to the public on the same level his is, yet I be willing to bet at one time another in your life you failed at something and/or let somebody down. And my point remains the same you are assinating this man's human worth because of a simple mistake, while there are those that have done far worse that get less scrutiny.

One more thing he was let go because he failed an illegal drug test, not because of performance on the field. Thats what they said to keep from paying him the money, thats where he feels he was wronged by the Cowboys.

there are tons of QBs out there with more PHYSICAL talent then Romo. ANd what are they doing? Not playing in the pros, that is for sure, let alone starting. Look at how many strong arm, tall, mobile qbs BUST in the NFL all the time? That is why I say it is 65% mental. Joe Montana did not have a strong arm at all, was not tall, or particularly big. Yet he was arguably the best QB that ever played. As a matter of fact, of all the top QBs, only Elway physically had it all. Most of the others were not that great as regards being the prototypical Pro Qb as regards the physical attributes.

My disgust with that whole story is thinking back on Jerry Jones, our GM.

Jerry, just like a weathervane, saw the success some black QBs like McNabb and Culpepper were having and in his mind he thought that was the trend of the NFL. (Just like in 2000 he thought the trend was the high flying Rams offense of 1999, so he traded 2 # 1 picks for Joey Galloway.)

So Jerry just had to go out and get him a young, athletic black QB to keep up with what some of the other teams were doing and he reached for a guy who had a KNOWN drug history at Georgia. One of the worst GM decisions he ever made. Just stupid!

The sickening thing is that it's not just 20/20 hindsight. Most anyone who followed Q's career at Georgia knew, at the time the pick was made, that it was an awful 2nd round pick.

Look at Irvin who has done far worst things off field, yet is he held in higher reguard because he was more productive?

Yes. That is correct.

Quincy had to go after that, but this knee-jerk need to trash his play is revisionist history...

His play was not acceptable if you had higher standards in your QB. He was not much above average, nor was he mentally strong enough to handle the rigors of playing QB for the Dallas Cowboys.

Looking back at his yardage totals and painting a beautiful portrait of his tenure here is equally revisionist.

The difference with Irvin is that he REALIZED that he was on the wrong road and straightened himself out. Q has not even come close to that.

I also never heard Michael make excuses. He knew when he did wrong. He pretty much shut his mouth and took his medicine.

Carter blames practically every external source there is.

Marijuana.

The Dallas Cowboys.

The Montreal Alouettes.

He makes himself out to be a victim of circumstance when really he is a victim of his own stupidity.

Substance abuse, bravado, and lack of insight are not part of the recipe for success.

But there are worse things.

I don't understand why the person who wrote this article felt the need to bash the league and surroundings just because he's trying to make a point about Quincy. I'm pretty sure most people understand that AF2 is just a notch above a bunch of guys playing two hand touch in the backyard but there is no reason to bash it and the people who just like to play....

He even used the phrase "crappy team"... real professional.

God tells us to forgive and I'm doing my best, but what the Cowboys did to me...it's tough to swallow."

With charges pending, Carter says only of the incident, "Let's just say the police didn't handle things the right way."
You put yourself in that position QC. You have owned more of your screwups but still have a couple to go. Grow up.

Sorry it bothers you so much Mick.

Tell you what, when we quit talking about and hearing about this idiot, and we quit having people talking about how we should all feel sorry for him and wish him well, then I will quit commenting about this punk.

The Quincy Carter story is the quintessential zombie movie. Just when you thought the monsters are no longer threatening, they slowly creep up behind you and moan, "Brains". They, and him, just... won't... die.

Is Carter an active player? No.

Is Carter a member of the franchise? No.

Did Carter play a significant role in Cowboys' history? No.

Is he presently involved in the franchise's affairs in any fashion now? No.

C'mon, media folk. Just let this non-issue die. You repeatedly keep digging up his carcass for what exactly? There is no story here and it hasn't been in YEARS! Stop the madness! Did George Romero graduate journalism school??? Damn!
