I really could care less about Kolb.

IMHO, Mcnabb is the guy that should be playing behind center for the next 3 years.

It's very unlikely of that happening, but I believe in Mcnabb to get us back to the Superbowl. He can still put up those record numbers.

I guess my only beef with the article was the wording. Reporting that a player has looked really good so far and a player has been off is the job of the journalist.

I just didn't like the wording "his career is off to a nice start" it's just weird to me to be mentioning such a broad term like "career" when he's only been in a few practices without full pads (I believe). So really it's just semantics, me making a ruckus over nothing really.
For me, I look at it as Kolb is still an unknown to them and they're still trying to sell the pick to the fans.

So this piece is kind of a reassurance to the fans that "Hey, this guy might not be so bad."

Kinda like when we gets reports on how well Spencer is doing in practice.

The same applies to those who rave about Romo looking "perfect".

I think most would in no-contact drills.

Brady Quinn not being one of them ;)

I have this weird feeling that this is either McNabb's last year in Philly, or that they will move him by the trade deadline.

Hollcombe
Feeley
Kolb
McNabb

I just don't think they'll keep 4 QBs nor risk Kolb on the Practice Squad where anyone can grab him. Maybe they waive Feeley or Holcombe, but I can as easily see them not and getting rid of mcNabb's huge salary and Kolb's only real roadblock. The Eagles more than any other franchise operate that way.

I just hope they don't get a draft pick for one of their scrubs like they did for Feeley a few years ago. At the very least, you have to believe the Philthy crowd will be on Mcnabb every time he throws an interception.

And McFlabb will be doing his fake injury limp as an excuse. Ahhh I'm loving it.

I still can't believe they got a 2nd for him.

While I don't see them moving McNabb this year, I can sure see 2007 as his last in Philadelphia.

Barring an MVP-caliber season and taking the Eagles to the Super Bowl, I can see him getting traded to 'Eagles-West' in Minnesota in '08.

I think Reid and the Eagles have gotten tired of the whining, power-plays, and the injuries - to say nothing of his contract numbers making a huge jump in a few years.

I believe the drafting of Kolb has shown McNabb that the honeymoon is over and that his career in Philly won't be as long as he might have believed it to be. Kind of the same stark reality a guy like Culpepper is currently dealing with.

The trip from the penthouse to the outhouse can be a short one.

Yeah I don't know what to say about that one. Are the Eagles geniuses because they got the 2nd or is Miami just stupid. Or is it both.

And in the end they got him back for nothing!

I didn't think of the Vikings. I think you're right. McNabb has lost his appeal by not taking the Eagles to the promised land. Too many chances to not grab the ring. JMO. I don't see the Eagles making as much noise this year. They seem to be falling off.

I think the eagle FO and coach is really starting to realize just how weak minded McFlabb is. He absoutely cannot handle pressure so they did the right thing by going after a QB that might be able to handle pressure situations...unlike McChoke who has shown many, many, times with his mommy and daddy, that he will sulk and whine if everyone does not get down and lick his shoes.

I don't care what talent you have, if you are weak in the head, you are weak in the head!

Miami also gave up a 2nd for a QB coming off a shredded knee.

So....

At least this time, they went the route of drafting a QB in the second round as opposed to trading for some questionable QB's.

Am I wrong for thinking of Danny White when you said too many chances at the ring? For some reason his name came to mind when I read that.

And they gave up a 5th for Joey Harrington, too. And didn't they trade for Cleo Lemon?

It boggles the mind they're willing to send another pick to a team for a QB.

No. You're right on as usual. In fact I didn't intend it that way but as writing it I thought that very thing.

The only other analogy I can think of to McNabb is Danny and Kelly. The Vikings and Tarkenton aren't far behind.

Pretty sharp. :)

I sincerely hope you're right, because I really hate the idea of my all-time favorite Coog taking snaps for the loathsome Beagles.

I seem to recall the only great year that McFlabb had was the year the Player was his #1 WR.

That must suck for other teams, too!
