sago1;1414188 said:At one time I would have agreed with you that it's a victimless crime, but not anymore. While many of the women might be willing accomplices in this act, unfortunatley it seems that many of them are being forced into this activity by individuals who've smuggled them into the U.S. & now force them to work as prostitutes--some of these women are as young as 12. BTW: I understand from a news report that Atlanta has more young girls (most of these girls are either illegal immigrants or runaways). But when girls are as young as 12 that's not prostitution that's pedophile (sp?) and just as wrong as kidnapping a young girl or child and using her for that purpose.

Way back in the later 60s, the family was living in Germany, Dad was in the Army... my Mom had two sisters and assorted cousins come over to visit us one summer, and we all went to Amsterdam... one evening, as we were all settling in to call it a night, Dad took me out to see Canal Street... he'd heard about it, wanted to see it, but figured Mom wouldn't be too thrilled if he went by himself, LOL... and since I was 15, he correctly figured I might find it interesting... ticked off my little brother big time, he was 13 then himself...
Well, Canal Street used to be a series of small shops, that had been converted into mini-brothels... the girls would sit in these shop windows in assorted lingerie, with a price tag around their ankles (I swear, I'm not making this up)... behind them, there was a curtain, a bed, and a washstand...
And a red light...
When the sailors came up to the window, and checked out the price tag, they'd tap on the window, and if the girl didn't think he looked TOO seedy, she'd nod at him... he'd go in the side door, she'd get up and draw the curtain, and turn out that red light...
For maybe 15-20 minutes, tops...
Between that trip down to Canal Street and a stop in a hash house, Amsterdam was more of an educational experience than I think my folks had intended for me to have on that vacation...

Cardinals officials said they planned to release a statement on Anderson's arrest.
