Switzer, who won Super Bowl XXX in 1996 after succeeding Johnson as Cowboys coach in 1994, didn't pull any punches Tuesday. He said the dogfighting charges against Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick give NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell an opportunity to "clean up the league and get rid of the bums and the thugs. That's very important for the game."

Good thing for Switzer Goodell wasn't running the NCAA back in the day.

ROTFLMAO!!!! Are you implying that the bootleggers son had him some thugs up there at OU? Could it be?

I wonder how bad Switzer will screw up the Fox cast.

Everywhere he goes cheating, letting people run a muck, and more cheating goes on.

Better hide your wives too cause Switzer will try to move in.

They better be nice, he could be packing one of his six shooters.

Seriously im ashamed he was ever a coach of this franchise. I can see why some people still cant forgive Jerry.

I forgave Jerry when he hired Big Bill and let Bill clean this mess up and Jerry has bought into a lot of what Big Bill taught him.

Switzer might have been a part of that Superbowl but he let the whole show collapse around him.

Thanks Barry for running the Cowboys like you did the Sooners... Makes me sick.

I don't share the feeling but I will say I felt Barry lacked any discipline regarding the team and pretty much let the inmates run the asylum. Even at that I don't put all of the problems on Barry. He treated these guys like grown men and they showed they could not act like grown men.

He let the guys do what ever they wanted too.

Its one thing to let men be men but the coach still needs to lead by example.

He was just as immature as any player on that team.

Its Jerry's fault for getting him in the 1st place and I wasn't shocked at all when things went the way they did.

Play with fire and youll get burned.

Bill Parcells finally dug us out of that hole that was created.

I agree with much of what you said, only thing I will say for Barry is the players play hard for him and seeing Irvin reaction to Barry and telling the Texas Stadium crowd this was game was for Barry after beating GB in the NFC Championship game then going on to win the SB over Pitt showed me that Barry could still motivate players. Say what you will about Barry but the man can motivate his troops.

larry Brown did the pregame with bob sturm on the ticket last year also.

The tickets in game production of the game is not very good, they miss a bunch of plays every week with commercials. It drives me crazy.

kluv never played commercials over the game. It really makes me mad.

Yep, I hope they try to improve this year.

I noticed in the postgame show for the Indy game, it was Norm and Donovan instead of Norm and -- what's his name -- Greggo? I hope they keep it that way. I got so sick of Greg messing up basic facts about the team last year.

Just as a point of interest, the Switzer story "Bootleggers Boy" was pretty interesting. It gives ya a perspective on the guy.

I actually liked him. I wasn't thrilled about him as a coach though.

Switzer, who will also work as an analyst with XM Satellite Radio this fall, said he looks forward to jousting with Johnson who he's known as a colleague and competitor at Arkansas, Oklahoma and the NFL. "We've known each other for 50 years," he said.

Did they go to high school together? Jimmy is 64 and Barry is 70. I guess Barry could have still been in high school at 20 :)D ) but Jimmy was only 14 years old 50 years ago.

Actually several Cowboy players (including Moose Johnston) on our 95 SB team, have publicly said they won that year because the players coached themselves to victory -- not Switzer.

Switzer makes himself out to look like a saint in that book.

Just like when he was the hero who took the gun away from the little kids and brought it on a plane.

Switzer is what he is.
