I get the criticism but just by reading the article the only thing Arnold did was display facts like the original writer did lol. I can see if he was reciting the same words and structure as the original writer but if you read a Tony Romo article based on the same topic its going to have the same stats in it. I'm not excusing what Chris did but I don't understand why the original author is getting credit for being "original". He spewed off the same stats that other writers have put in their columns and said it nearly identical.

he practically repeated the article verbatim.

Writers don't like to see other people take credit for their work. And the flip side of that, fans rely on media (even those they hate) to report the news, provide informed opinions, and generally write original content.

In the world of the internet, it's hard to expect true originality, but you definitely don't expect to read a blatant word-for-word, copy and paste job that this guy did either...with no credit given. This is not college where you might be able to get by with that kind of stuff. This guy gets paid to write for a living and for him to respond with the level of sarcasm he did to the original author. Well, imo, he deserves a punch in the nads.

Good points.. I've changed my mind and now I think that writers don't like to see other people take credit for their work. And the flip side of that, fans rely on media (even those they hate) to report the news, provide informed opinions, and generally write original content.

Fortunately, I'm not a paid journalist. Otherwise, I'd sue. ;) :)

Smh... Unreal and this guy still has a job? Really you think people are going to believe that you didn't do this intentionally? If it was a mistake when it was published you go back the next day and fix it. I find it hard to believe he didn't do it intentionally and IMO the fan lost all credibility and if I were any player on the team I would be very careful of what I say to them or any interview I grant to them.

Arnold is in danger of being sued big time if the guy wanted to pursue it.

There is no difference between this and walking into your house and stealing your stuff. Or making replica Cowboys jersies and selling them without permission from the NFL or the team.

Intellectual property is just as valuable, often more, than physical property.

This is the type of thing someone should lose their job over. I'm a graduate student and if I did even half of this in any of my courses I'd be kicked out of my program and essentially be black listed from further academic work.

I would be very surprised if he is on the air on Monday. The Fan doesn't seem to be too hesitant with dumping someone so this should be no exception.

Truly embarrassing... I was interested to see his response. I suppose he took the only response possible in his shoes (clueless) but I wonder if there was another way to wriggle out.

Arnold has always been terrible. Giant empty bag, going back to when he had a show on The Ticket... Corby was the best part of that show.
