This guy is a free agent and I would like to see him added to our front. With Rat and Hatcher the Dline would be impressive.

He could value as a rusher in the nickel. The wing span of Campbell and hatcher would close passing lanes on both sides of the field.

Worth the money?

He would be a force in Dallas. I'm 100% for the guy, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Cardinals reach a long term deal with him before free agency. I'd also like to see a veteran guard or center in FA as well. Not sold on Costa and the Holland/Kosier combo won't hold up.

I think the guy would be great in Dallas also.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was locked up with a long-term contract before he hits free agency.

If I was an NFL player in Arizona, I would accept less money to play in Dallas.

I agree. Would be a good pickup and we wouldn't have to burn a draft pick on a player that may or may not work out.

It seems like every game I watch he has a blocked FG as well. He is the best in the nfl at that.

I don't think we can afford him.

I figure Campbell will probably get $10M/yr on his next deal based on the going rate for elite DEs.

We have already given a big deal to Ratliff. TNew has a big deal at CB and when his expires we will have to give one to Jenkins or Jenkins' replacement. Sean Lee will also be due for a raise before too long. You can only keep so many big contract guys on one unit of the team. A 3-4 DL probably can only give big money out to one DL and Rat was our choice.

If we got better at the other OLB spot and continue to get good play out of Hatcher and Lissemore there may not be any need to pursue a high profile FA for the DL.

After seeing the debacle in Philly & how these big contracts trap teams (and have trapped Dallas in the past) with a player when he doesn't perform up to the level of the contract, I'm loathe to sign any big name free agents to expensive, long term deals, I like the ones on short, cheaper, non-cap killing contracts that feel disrespected and are motivated to earn a bigger contract next time and then let some other team pay them long term big bucks.

I wonder if anyone has done an analysis of free agent signings to evaluate the return on investment.

don't expect Dallas to be big players in free agency next year either

My guess is perhaps one medium priced starter at interior OL.

I wouldn't be shocked if we paid for a vet pass rush specialist ala Jason Taylor or Andre Carter. Such a vet could do very well playing opposite Demarcus Ware. If we don't get such a player my guess is it will be a split between Spencer or his replacement and Victor Butler.

I'm not sure about the Cards cap room but after extending Fitz to his contract it can't be that good. I think Campbell hits the market. Remember, this is a team that let Warner hit free agency after their only superbowl appearance.

Our moves this past offseason basically positioned us to allow for a massive upcoming offseason. Of course, the right players have to be available at the right price, but it could be huge if Jerry so desired.

Good call. They need more athletes in the front 7. I could see Him being franchised though.

The parameters for the franchise tag changed a bit. Making it a little cheaper

This is what I was thinking. I am unsure of our cap, but it seems we should have flexibility in a few signings.

Wasnt Miles, Ware and Romo resigned in such a way that their first few years were front loaded? It seems like we would plenty of wiggle room.

Campbell's about to stack his chips this off-season.

He's the pass-rushing 3-4 DE a lot of us have been screaming for, and doesn't have a of mileage.

#1 on my FA wishlist.

My best guess is Arizona is going to franchise him anyways. They don't have many high priced players and there is that whole issue on the floor for player salaries across the league.

Even if they don't he will be exorbitantly expensive.

we absolutely MUST have another guy that the O has to worry about other then Ware.

We will basically be cap neutral next year with the forwarded salary cap savings this year (18M) versus the dead money that was pushed into the 2012 cap year (25M). I think Adam has suggested that even with no cap increase for next year that when all is said and done with the voided deals and contract adjustments there may be about $15-20M to spend in FA with 40 players under contract.

I don't mind us spending in FA so long as we are getting value and not giving big pay days to guys who are in the 29 to 30 year old range (QBs excepted) as this has bit us in the past. Mega deals should only be considered for younger FAs around 25-27 years old due to the rapid decline in production seen in most players north of 30.

If we're going to spend big it should be on a pressure player.

Add him and then maybe Ben Grubbs or Carl Nicks. That would be quite an off season. It would take alot of money them though but if we did and then added Konz (if he comes out), I think we would be sitting pretty.
