As much as I want this coaching staff gone

I like Whisenhunt as a retread HC prospect, too. But he did get a nice long run in AZ and averaged less than a winning record there, despite the Superbowl run.

I'm of the opinion that it had more to do with a poor GM not acquiring talent than it did with the job Whisenhunt himself did.

I think he assembled a pretty good staff there on both sides of the ball and I've been very impressed with what he's done with Rivers and the Chargers offense this year.

And I'm also of the belief that we would be better off with a former coach who hasn't won a Super Bowl and may have learned from last experience than I am with possibly getting one who has and may be set in his ways 'because they worked in the past'.

And I also think that 'the Wiz' has a little bit of Cowher discipline in him too.

Again, just my opinions.

Gruden as a walk around head coach would be fine but his offensive schemes are just as bad as Garretts.

I want advantages on game day. Not coaches that are posers like Gruden and Garrett.

It's just not Dallas, Fritsch. How would he react/handle a Brandon Marshall or Jay Cutler? He can't brow beat anymore. Didn't he and Keyshawn have an issue? Keyshawn and the team parted ways? IIRC.

On top of the Dallas players he also has gran-poohbah to contend with and I seriously think every candidate will have that on the top of their 'con' list. Who wants to be a puppet if they take the game of football
seriously and WANTS to coach them up? JMO, of course.

Yeah, one of the things I would like about Gruden is he would be more of a hard arse and not take any crap, but judging JJ's record, he wouldn't allow a coach to be a tough guy. I just think that is a key that has been missing, seems none of the coaches since Jimmy have had the toughness along with the blessing of JJ to enforce their way. However, a "name coach" like Gruden might be in a better situation to coax concessions from Jerry. If JJ goes shopping for a "name", he will seem a bit desperate and that could be a bargaining chip. JJ is never going to give up the illusion of total control, but he might give up some control behind the scenes.

That's what I hope for anyway, since right now all I have is hope real change will be made, and by change I mean not just the name on the coaches desk.

Why not bring in Todd Haley at least JJ will know he can slap in across the head

It doesn't matter who is in the title of head coach there is only one and he has been in There for 17 years

I know for sure who our next head coach will be. His name:
Coach DogMeat

That's what folks around here will be calling him 2 or 3 years into his tenure. Being a head coach in Dallas is a no-win proposition. Destined to fail...especially now. This roster is extremely thin in talent. We have no depth and will be in cap hell for the next 3-4 years.

3-4 years? Might as well add 3-4 more on that. Lee, Dez, Romo, Smith and Hatcher will be in play then :( Assuming the resign the ones remaining.

Norv seems like he knows how to get the ball to his best WR. Automatic improvement.

Yep! I live in Cleveland so I watch the Browns games if they don't play the same time as the Cowboys. They know how to use their playmaker Josh Gordon!
