As much as the Cowboys pay Orton, he should be expected to win

That man did no worse than Romo probably would have done/
Like Romo- he is not a one man army.

The guy played damn well.
Damn well.

This was a darn good game.

Too darn bad. Move on as best we can...

Orton played pretty well today, lets be honest if romo takes over down 24-22 the entire football world would have expected him to thrown an int there.

This may not be fair- but he probably would have.

On the exact same play...

He would have played the play-call to the hilt like Orton and bang- INT.

Different player, same call, same play- same outcome.

Better than 50/50 odds on it.

He played OK. But again, we lost. If that money were going elsewhere (say a veteran safety) we might have been two games up on the Eagles going into the final game.

Quarterback salaries is a topic for the coming offseason.

Orton was 30/46 for 358 yards, 2 TDs and 2 INTs (of which one was not really his fault IMO). If you say that he did not play well then I think you must also say that Romo has not played well this season. This is almost exactly the kind of game that we have seen from Romo many, many times over, right down to the late game INT.

Except Romo doesn't have a 1:1 TD INT ratio. And that first INT is completely on him, the ball was thrown behind Witten.

That said, I think he played absolutely as best as you could expect a backup coming off the bench. I don't blame him in the least, I just wonder what the coaching staff was doing putting the ball in his hands 46 times.

BS. That int was on Witten, no question. He was lazy in his body position and it resulted in an INT. Now, if you want to say that it was not a great pass, that's fine with me but it should not have resulted in an INT. In fact, it was very catchable if Witten only opens his hips and uses his body to shield the ball.

However, I do agree that we managed to do what we always do, which is to say, we throw the ball too often in situation where we should be running it.

Exactly right Ren. For the record, in our first meeting with Philly, when this offense was better IMO, and the Defense was light years better, Romo posted the following numbers:

28/47 for 317 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs.

You can fairly make the point that Ortan played better then did Romo against this same team. The difference, Philly's offense had not yet come together.
