I'm not arguing stats.

I'm arguing talent.

Haley is 10 times better than Ware.

You are on the record.

Ware's talent is in the same convo as Haley, LT, DT, Reggie, Bruce.

Stats, impact on the game.....how ever you want to measure it.

Somebody earlier in the thread tried to give credit to Wade's scheme.

If that's the case take credit away from LT (BP), DT (Schotty), Reggie (Ryan/Wade), Bruce (Wade).

Okay, first of all, Lawrence Taylor is BY FAR the greatest football player that ever lived on defense.

Not sure if he was on roids, crack, or whatever, but nobody is in that class.

Yeah, that that 4 sack season in 93 was something else.

Didn't even have his back as an excuse yet.

Give me the evidence of the heat that year?

How many QB pressures, FF's, etc did he have that year.

I think you overvalue Haley's contribution to the team. A lot of the heat that Haley also brought was when the offense actually put up a huge lead on the other team, and they became one dimensional.

As far as I'm concerned, Ware's numbers are less because of Stewart, and because the offense didn't live up to its potential so that Ware could face a one-dimensional team.

In such a situation, I think he would have broke the sack record.

Would not have won a Superbowl w/out him. Put us over the hump.

Tolbert/Jeffcoat would not have cut it.

Ware didn't disappear either. I saw him!

Did you even watch the Cowboys during the early '90's. Haley was good, but he took some plays off.

Stats aren't everything but Ware is top 5 all time fastest to 50 sacks.

Reggie, Bruce, DT, Tim Harris, Ware.

He's up there in very lofty company.

That is true. But, without Ware, I think we are way worse than a 9-7 record. No doubt that Haley was outstanding at pressuring the QB, but I think a comparison between his value on those teams and Ware's on this team is unfair because of the things I stated earlier.

Did he make any plays since that sack in the first drive vs. Baltimore ?

He can sure go long periods w/out doing anything.

Are we giving him $90 million ???

Blasphemy.

Get rid of Ware. He has no place on this team. We'd have done better with Ekuban.

In the seven quarters after his last sack, Ware had three tackles for loss and a forced fumble -- which is about a season's worth for some players.

And Ware is the first player to have a least one sack (or even half a sack) in 14 different games in one season.

Yeah, he "disappears" all right.

:banghead: This thread is absurd. The guy is tough, and played on a bum knee in hostile conditions. I would take 53 Wares on this team.

Ware brings heat about 3-4 plays per game.

This is, by far, the single most idiotic thing I have EVER heard or read.

100% serious question here: Do you actually watch the games when our defense is on the field?

Not to mention the 3 hits he put on McNabb today

This takes second place on the dumbest thread list, right behind the guy that suggested Dallas trade Witten

The two Cowboys players that I just couldn't imagine anyone being able to question, for any reason, and yet a couple of posters found a way to prove me wrong on that.

Simply amazing.

There are only a few guys on this team that NO ONE has any business questioning their value to this team this offseason:

Witten
Ware
Ratliff
Newman
James

It's hard to criticize a guy like Ware. You know he gives his all on every play. No one on defense played as well as they have recently, except maybe Bradie. Ware would be even better if his teammates would step up more often.

Bingo... Where was Greg Ellis and Spencer????
