saute right along side the burger, then I put it on top of the meat and used pepper jack cheese cause I was out of swiss, let it melt into the mushroom really well, I also put sauted onions on it as well, it was extremely good, though it was a tall burger.

Do you mean just grill it along side the burger with the cheese on it? Too me, saute is putting mushrooms in a skillet with melted butter and onions with a little salt and pepper...

well I put some olive oil and a touch of balsamic vinegar on it and cooked it right along side the burger as though it was another peice of meat. I waiting till it was done then I put it on top of the burger meat and then I put the cheese and let it melt all over

Grilling a portmush, lightly rubbed w/ olive oil and a pinch of S&P, is A+++.

My nephew loves their burgers, I've never had one... just to make you feel bad, you do know that one of the owners of Five Guys is Mark Moseley, the old Skins' kicker, don't you?? So when you spend six bucks for one of their burgers, you're puttin' money in his pocket...
