can't wait for JJ to get back. Barber had some nice, tough runs, but I really think JJ would have gashed this D for a lot more. His ability to make the first guy miss would have been apparent, and with the number of draws we ran, no one hits the draw hole faster than JJ. Come back soon sir.

I agree. Sometimes you don't realize how important a guy is until he's gone.

What is his "official" injury? I keep hearing ankle, I just hope it's not a high ankle sprain...Those allways seem to linger.

I'm pretty sure it is a high ankle sprain but even if it isn't, it has to be a fairly serious sprain. I would not be a but surprised if you don't see JJ against Arizona either.

I really liked what I saw from MB. I often wondered why BP would take MB out for a good amount of time, especially when he had a head of steam going. As I remember, when JJ was playing this year, many on this forum were complaining that BP was using him wrong and different than he did last year. JJ didn't cross the 100 yard plateau this year which is what his backups are basically doing. MB could have easily surpassed 100 yards just like JJ had opportunities this year but we passed it up to pass the ball.

I'm not so sure that JJ would have faired much better than what you saw yesterday and I think that when he does come back, we may see more of the same that we were seeing before he got hurt.

Oh well, at least then we can blame BP for JJ's lack of production.

Why did we run so many draws with MB but not when JJ was playing?

To be honest I have not see JJ do anything this year to make me think he would have had a better day then Barber. I was impressed with Barber.

If they had used the draw in the first 5 games like they did today, maybe JJ would be leading the league.

From what I saw from MB in two games this year, I liked a lot. He is nimble and he runs harder than JJ. He has a lot of energy and enthusiasm to go along with it. He runs the screen better than JJ and he also blocks!!!! Not implying that JJ doesn't mind you.

I almost hope that JJ doesn't come back until after the bye so that we can see MB a little more in a full time roll.

** I see no reason why we even run A. Thomas anymore. So much for experience.

TT had a good game too. They are a nice pair of backups to have. MBIII averaged 4.3 on 22 and TT averaged 5.6 on 6. I actually saw TT make them look like slow motion on the outside runs like in pre season.

But when it counted MB did very little. ESPECIALLY after the first drive.

JJ is the better runner but MB is defianately the better pass catching back. We can actually run a screen for a descent gain with him.

No arguement that MB can be considered the better 3rd down back when passing is more likely.

True indeed. It's hard to do something when you are on the sideline behind A. Train. TT also got a good amount of touches as well. I say let A. Train sit and give the extra carries to MB.

MB did not set the world on fire- lets be clear about THAT. HE showed nothing compared to JJ of last year. AND that is the question- JJ of last year. WHAT has changed. He is heavier and stronger- did that cost him flexibility and quickness?
Then there is BP's BS about negative gains and run where the play is designed NO MATTER WHAT. ADD to that the O line stinking up the place.

I for one owe MB3 an apology because he had an outstanding game. Still, I can't wait for Julius to return.

MB showed he is a very capable RB. JJ seems to have lost that flexibility due to his muscle gain. Yet, MB shows power (running over Boulware) and some explosion. JuJo still is more talented but we need to start running the draw with him in there not just with MB.

I REALLY WISH SOMEONE at the Press conference would have the guts to ask BP why do the Boys wait untill JJ is not playing to run a whole lot of draws.

mb played how i knew he could. I have said he would come along although slowly, and when he got his real chance, he did well. That said i would prefer him to be backup as he should be, and let JJ get some plays. hopefully jj comes back big against arizona and gets a touchdown run for once this season.
