Do we have any chance of signing one of these guys?Is our salary cap situation in good enough shape to take the hit of a big free agent contract?

Either one of these guy would be a huge edition,to our team.Barber & Turner would give us a heck of a one-two punch. Also Asante Samuel would take our defense to the elite level IMO.

I thought New England agreed not to use the franchise tag on Samuel again if he signed last year...

I would love to have either one of those guys. But realistically, I see us drafting a RB with one of our 1st 3 picks in the draft and maybe signing someone like Drayton Florence.

I don't think Samuel can get tagged since he's played 75% of the snaps.

Samuel we could probably get if we wanted him. Dallas could get Turner as well, but I think they will pass up on him since he'll want major $$$ and they probably feel that having Barber and say a first or second round rookie would suffice. I see Turner going to the Bears.

Contrary to those writers and reporters who don't even look at our salary cap and report it as fact, Dallas has quite a bit of salary cap room. The question is more or less whether or not Dallas thinks the player is *worth* their asking price. After watching last night's game, I think it was reaffirmed that we could use Lance Briggs.

They did. I just don't think that Samuel will be back in NE next year.

Samuals is going to demand boat loads of money, probably more than what JJ is willing to give. As for Turner, I'd rather use a draft pick for a RB to compliment MBIII.

No need for Turner.

Cheaper to use a first on a guy if not a later pick.

The guy isn't deserving big money to be a split timer. Rookie contract is a nice way to go.

I think Pats are now ready to sign him after another great season. Pats covered themselves in contract I heard - per my moles in foxboro. He's not going to free agency....

Pats have to sign Randy Moss, Asante Samuel, and probably the 4th or 5th pick in the draft, and probably some others, and pay out a lot of bonuses earned this year. Moss, Samuel, and the high draft pick alone is some serious coin! $40-$50 million

We have to pay Newman and Barber soon so there is no way we can afford Samuels and Turner.

I think Asante Samuel is exactly what we need in our secondary. Our corners simply can't cover. Henry doesn't have the speed, and Newman simply can't stay healthy. I would normally say just draft a corner, but we need help at that position now. And a lot of help at that.

We need to draft a receiver, and probably a running back. And wouldn't be too upset if we drafted or signed a safety to replace roy williams. Also wouldn't mind if we got an end to replace Spears.

I dont think its worth are time trying to sign a free agen like Turner when this draft is gonna be so deep in young talented RBs.

It wouldn't completely surprise me. Although if he wants Nate Clements type of money, I think the Pats are not going to like that and they may not cave in.

Samuel, no-I wouldn't spend $100m on a corner, no matter how good they are.

Turner-a good possibility. If it weren't for LT, he would be a bona-fide starter.

I think Dallas should make a big push for Samuel. It kills two birds with one stone. You get the best CB on the market and you weaken NE. It doesnt get better than that since NE looks like the team Dallas would need to get thru to win a superbowl sometime soon.

I want us to draft a quick, speedy back that can catch well out of the backfield. He can get 5-10 carries and give Barber the rest of the carries.

We can do kinda like what we did this year, just with a more effective back than JJ.

Wow, how the hell did we make it to 13-2 with nobody playing corner, safety or DE!

Our first rounders should be CB and WR, if we don't move. We can get a backup to Barber in the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th rounds.

If we get Asante, we have to ditch Henry or assume we're not resigning Newman. I wouldn't mind Turner if he's getting paid backup money, but he's going to get offers from a team where he can start, and he has no interest in playing 2nd (or 3rd) fiddle any longer.
