I don't think we go after either player.

My guess is that Day 1 we draft a CB, WR, and RB (possibly in that order!).

I think we use most of our cap money to re-sign our own FAs and then we go after role players - like someone to possibly replace Reeves, etc.

Also, assuming that Glenn's health is a concern and he isn't coming back in 2008, it wouldn't surprise me if we also look at FA for some "value" at WR. Maybe a disgruntled WR who we can pick up for a Day 2 draft pick or some FA that Ireland is really high on.

Neither one is worth the money they will be demanding.
On the :money:

I'd rather fill the needs through the Draft.

Year after year we are $12M+- under cap

If we can get a shot at a Pro Bowl CB that is a true playmaker I do it all day everyday.

Year after year doesn't mean next year Norsy. After resigning Canty, Crayton, Barber and extending Newman and possibly Ware we aren't going to have a huge amount of cap space.

Throwing facts in will only muddy the water.

Let's sign Gay instead.....he will be a whole heck of a lot cheaper (Samuel will probably command Clemente type money)....Gay is a very solid CB. He could cover the slot WR. Also, if Newman and Henry continue to be injured, Gay is excellent insurance, along with Reeves.

Let's make a small run at Randy Moss. Just think about having TO and Moss as our starting WRs. Add Witten and Crayton to the mix, and our offense would be damn scary. Unfortunately, it looks like Moss will most likely take less money to stay with the Pats.....smart move on his part. He can set records and be the main go to guy.....also, compete for a ring the rest of his career.

Basically let's just resign our guys...Crayton, MB3, Canty, Flozell....and add Gay.

We have a great team already, no need to make wholesale changes.

No thanks, I don't want our very own Jason David.

Trade Williams if possible, resign Hamlin, resign Barber, Adams, and Crayton. Draft some speed for the offense at RB and or WR.

Isn't Samuel a Corner??

I wouldn't spend that kind of dough on him. I would rather see us go after a SS with coverage skills and resign Hamlin.

As much as you'd like to see Roy gone. It ain't gonna happen.

Jerreh seems to love the guy and the cap hit would be fierce.

Actually I don't want to see Roy gone. I want to see him used closer to the line but I sure would like to see him improve a bit in coverage.

Yes Roys is "ours" for the forseeable future. Roy has reduced his role already. May be time this draft to address Safety and sucession plan for Roy.

I don't see anything wrong with that plan at all. But I wouldn't reach to do it.

While potentially we could draft a safety early on, especially if Hamlin leaves, I don't think we would tap a safety until sometime in day 2. At this juncture I think all of these positions rate as being more critical to the teams success in '08...

CB
WR
RB
QB

I could easily envision a scenario where we chose either two CB's or two WR's on day 1 of the draft.

Where do some really dumb people get the idea that Newman can't stay healthy? Obviously very new fans or just plain DUMB ones.
