Asante Samuel to the Eagles

Hey guys, I haven't been around in a while but I just wanted to stop by and let you know that Asante Samuel and the Eagles have reached an agreement. It will be announced officially tomorrow but I'm sure it will leak out to some media outlet before then.

That one is a fact but there is also a rumor making the rounds that with Samuel now in the mix, the Eagles and Cardinals are talking about a trade that would involve Lito Sheppard and Larry Fitzgerald, among others. Like I said, that one is a rumor but the Samuel to Philly is done.

Also, when I signed in I saw a couple of people IM me about Randy Moss. Everyone I talked to said he's returning to the Patriots. I have heard nothing except the one thing on FoxSports.com that has linked Moss to the Cowboys. I would expect the Pats would announce something tomorrow but if not, then things could get interesting. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

I agree Iceberg. I don't understand that strategy at all. Makes no sense to pay one guy more money when you already have a player with similar skills on your roster.

SAMUEL VISITING EAGLES

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that free-agent cornerback Asante Samuel will visit the Eagles on Friday.

On Thursday night, it was reported that Samuel already has a deal in place with the Eagles.

Samuel is looking for at least $10 million per year.

They were talking day before yesterday on 103.3 that Fitzgerald's Dad said that Larry would love to play for the Cowboys. He would love to play for Romo and has been a fan of the Cowboys. This stinks.

The Cardinals will have to pay him $17 mil this year and he says he will not restructure. He wants out of AZ. He say pay me or let me go.

if the eagles were more newsworthy, shepperd would be more marketable. he's a very good cb.

I got this one from the highest of sources that's 100 percent reliable. That's the only reason I even signed on because it's done and I figured I would tell you guys before it comes out tomorrow just to give you the heads up.

but without Samuel , Lito cant bring any one else in...

The word is it would be Sheppard and a high draft pick but again, it's just talk at this point. I'm sure that the Eagles are talking to a lot of teams regarding Sheppard and the Cards are just one of them.

I'm not too bummed. They have always had good corners going back to Taylor and Vincent. Recently they have had Brown and Sheppard. Is Samuel THAT much better than Sheppard? I really doubt it. Plus it sounds like they are gonna be paying a boatload for him.
