Signing a cornerback doesn't help the Eagles' inability to score points. Trading for Fitzgerald would. I'd really hate to see Fitz in Eagle green.

Keep in mind one thing - with his contract, he basically has veto power over any deal. The Eagles are notoriously cheap, they're going to have to pony up cash if they want him.

Hey Dooms thanks for reporting in to the board. Great to hear from you even though I don't like the info.:)

I, like a lot of others, don't understand why they would sign Samuel to replace Sheppard. I've always thought a lot of Sheppard since he was a high school AA from Jacksonville. He's always been a very good player.

Fitz wants a LOT of money. Just do not see the Birds paying TWO high priced FAs in the same year.

Hey guys, I haven't been around in a while but I just wanted to stop by and let you know that Asante Samuel and the Eagles have reached an agreement. It will be announced officially tomorrow but I'm sure it will leak out to some media outlet before then.

That one is a fact but there is also a rumor making the rounds that with Samuel now in the mix, the Eagles and Cardinals are talking about a trade that would involve Lito Sheppard and Larry Fitzgerald, among others. Like I said, that one is a rumor but the Samuel to Philly is done.

Thanks Doom.

You've been missed. I know you have taken flack for things, but I know you're a man of your word.

Don't be a stranger. Alot of us really appreciate what you bring to this board.

thanks for the heads up.

Latest is that Samuel's deal would be for 6 years $60 million.

If it's merely a Samuels for Sheppard deal, it doesn't make much sense to me.

If it leads to them getting Fitzgerald from Arizona, I have to concede that I think it would be a great move.

But those two moves would probably result in them giving up their #1 pick and paying a boatload of money to two players.

The dismantling of the Patriots has begun. They'll still win that joke of a division but they're going to start losing the players who make the difference in them being a great team and a middle of the pack team.

If they should lose Moss, I think that would be devastating.

I was thinking about it, this is really the first time Moss has had options to go where he wanted to.

When traded to the Raiders it was with a reworked deal. Then traded to the Patriots after being drafted by the Vikings.

I personally would not want to leave Tom Brady's offense if I were a WR, but you never know. He might sense that the Patriots are on the way down and want out now while he has the chance.

Comcast sports has reported that eagles have a deal with Asante and his visit to philly will be longer then he thought.
They are also reporting that the Eagles have a deal in place with the cardinals. Larry Fitzgerald for 19th overall pick 5th round pick and Lito Shepard.
They said the deals should be announced by the team by noon.

In examining both teams, you have to think that the Cowboys' 'star' - pun intended - is more on the rise than the Patriots'.

The Cowboys have a solid, young nucleus and don't figure to be losing any quality players while New England is aging and looks to be losing several key contributors.

Dallas also has two #1 draft picks to improve further.

Throw in a state-of-the-art stadium opening soon and things are very exciting in Dallas.

And, given the contract Adams got, my 'conspiracy theory' may not be too far off the mark.....

Hey Doomsday! Thanks for the heads up. I hope you stick around....I remember you being the first to break the news that Owens was coming to Dallas even though there were many that doubted your sources. I hope you can get some info on anyone that Dallas is looking at in free agency.
