Christmas shopping today and having a difficult time deciding on something.

My dad wants a new jersey, and he REALLY likes Keith Brooking. He calls him "his type of player."

We also are big fans of Kevin Ogletree (my dad is a season ticket holder at UVA).

Would it even be worth it to go with either of these guys? He's not the type who would want something very common like a Romo or Barber, and I have an Austin so he doesn't want that.

What should I do?

Get your Dad what he wants and what you know he'll wear. No point in getting him something he will hang in the closet and collect dust.

What he wants and will use is the most practical gift.

Agreed, your dad associates with Brookings, and feel attached to wearing that jersey to express his feelings as well. Feed him for what he is, and appreciate that he shares your love of the Cowboys. A jersey usually doesn't last much longer in use, than a couple seasons anyways...as they can also end up on the wall as display. Maybe you can arrange to have it autographed later, by Brookings and add a real relish to the process at a later time as well.

I guess my next question is where can I get a Brooking jersey that I won't have to customize?

DC.com doesn't have any.

Mail order catalogs almost always have team jerseys personalized with player of choice options without additional charge. That can be googled up as to references....try starting with Cowboy jersey retail or something similar.
