Assuming the draft falls roughly as has been mocked

One player that I'm sold on is CB Chidobe Awuzie.

You could have just listened to me a few months ago. Ha.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure Davis/Williams/Howard are all a tier above who we expect at 28, so if they're there, they should be the pick. Without question.

We will rue the day if the Cowboys pass on Cory Davis. A Terrell Owens clone.

I would like for Awuzie to have had a few more INTs, but he appears to have good hands and his style seems like he should get some INTs. He appears to be rock solid in all other areas. Man, zone, etc..

Yeah if I were Cleveland I'd do it. Those are 3 time big playmakers. But Howard falling even past 20 is a dream in itself
I agree, he'd never fall that far.

But Cleveland would never offer that much for pick 28. I think they could get that trade for their early 2nd, early 4th and maybe add a 5th for a kicker.
Both 2nds (the 33rd and 52nd picks) and a 5th is just way overpaying. So much so that nothing close to it has ever happened.
They would be paying 1003 for 660.
In other words, they could start offering that deal at fair value to the 15th overall pick and look for takers each pick after while reducing it if they choose.

That's all I'm saying.

But if Dallas could get it, go for it!

On a championship caliber team, you take a player that can make an impact this year. Sorry to say, Howard doesn't help us much this year with Witten on the roster.

Always Best Tier Available.
I've never heard that phrasing, but I really like it. I hate hearing bpa all the time because so many people use it as a cop out or oversimplification. BTA is the more appropriate way to draft and more closely resembles how teams actually draft. I'm stealing this from you.

As to the OP, I'm not as high on Williams personally, but if Howard or Davis are there, the should be far and away the best player on the board. So much so that they would probably be the only true 1st Rd player left. Take them and worry about the other holes later.

agree.

Draft in tier groups. That's how they do it in real life to slip need in the equation at least to some degree.

BTA

You take Howard, but if Bowser is available they'll take him.
