From college, you'd see it big time. Similar build, similar style of play. Not overly physical at the point of attack, etc. More of a "submarine tackler."

Guards don't usually go very high in the draft, but the new cap rules on rookies might change that. Iupati went 17th a few years back to the 49ers and he was the best Guard Prospect to come out in some time. I presonally would expect DeCastro to be there if Dallas wants him.

I agree that top G will fall mid to late 1st rd. In the case of DeCastro he is the top G in the nation and he should fall mid portion of the draft and it so happens we have a pick in the middle of the 1st as well as a big time need for improvements on the OL. Seems a match made in heaven. If Cowboys were picking in the top 10 DeCastro I doubt would be getting this much talk but at 14 yeah.

Actually I'm not sure what Free can do after this year (he had shown he could play LT and look what happened), he looked so foolish out there that sometimes it should make you doubt whether he should be on the edge at all. Of course having the best player at a position in a draft is good, but it does depend on the position, and I don't see us talking about taking the best fullback in the first round.

Extreme case, but the point is, positions do mean something. We drafted 2 guards just last year, plus a OT. Now, after our D looked like a high school squad out there, I believe it is overkill. We do have other needs, and I would rather fill a guard in FA for now then use another first rounder.
