My problem with AT&T was their left hand never knew what their right hand was doing. In a question about my bill, one of their agents with an accent in some other country told me he was waiving some charges. Then a month later, AT&T calls me up saying I owe that money. I told them the date I spoke with an agent and that he had waived the charges, but they had no record of the call. I got annoyed and switched. Those charges weren't all that much money, but it was annoying to have someone working for them tell me that I did not owe that money; therefore, the charges were waived, only to then have another representative from that company insist that I owed the money. And then not be able to access any info about the prior call. So I moved on. I moved on to Consumer Cellular, then after that I moved on to Cricket (which then annoyingly got bought out by AT&T). But so far there are no problems with Cricket, so hopefully AT&T won't screw them up.
Maybe AT&T is the real problem with our team. Ever since they named it AT&T Stadium, they've been crap!

Maybe, I also can't stand stadiums in general getting named after some company. I always wanted a stadium named after an ex coach or owner or after the team itself. I understand it's just business, but it is annoying. If we had to name it after a company or product, my choice would be to call it Viagra Stadium or possibly Always Tampons Stadium.

That would be a stand up choice!

I have had Cricket Wireless (owned by ATT) for over three years and it works like a charm. We play $70 for two lines of unlimited everything. Uses ATT towers so it’s good service in Dallas and surrounding. Can’t beat that

I had ATT for 15 years or so but dropped then two years ago. Best decision made........

All these guys are crooks and cell phones will cost 5K in a few more years. We need to make a stand, I did. I refuse to buy a new phone while I use an old 6s. It barely works but still kicking

I want to go back to the old days of a flip phone but the wife calls me stupid and won’t let me

These companies are getting out of hand and needs knocked down a few pegs!

Welp, I kind of lost this fight. The wifes phone broke, so she had to get a new one fast. She has been wanting to ditch Xfinity since it wasn’t cheaper anymore when we got rid of their internet and cable.

She wanted to change to Verizon. We went to the store today and I walked out with the i12 Pro Max

Technically, I still haven’t given in to “the man” since it was buy one get one free if we changed providers. It even came with free Apple TV, ESPN+ and Disney. I can now finally watch The Mandolorian

Companies have been doing this for years. Simply put, they have your business already. All of the marketing budget is to drive new acquisitions. I believe it started in the 80s when there was a shift towards the CEO serving the shareholders above all else.

It's one of the ways they count growth and the business I used to be in, radio, did the same, it was all about new business.

Then research was done about the cost of new business v retention and the differences and it was no contest. Cable has been fighting the churn rate > new business for years and one of them main reasons they sold out to the larger companies.

It's like a review on Amazon, and this one really cracks me up every time I read it "Just got it but haven't used it yet but it arrived on time" 5 Stars As opposed to someone that's been using the product for 3 months and is a satisfied customer.

The problem with all of this in once you start connecting, like ATT+DirecTV+cellular + anything else they can get you using, it becomes the hassle of change. Apple did the same thing to me and it all just started with a phone. When they make a <satisfactory product like the HomePod, I'm stuck with that. If I ever find Siri, they'll nail me for homicide. I can't even cuss her out, as if she'd understand me anyway, she just gets all holier than thou and says "I am not responding to that".

I got Verizon internet after years of 3Mbps ATT rubbish. Verizon, though over 200Mbps, the agent after the call SLAMMED me with two services I had not ordered and i had to make two irate calls to supervisors to sort it out. I hate the lot of them!!! I've got great internet now but the PEOPLE who work there LIE and are dishonest #$%^&*()_$%^&*()_!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:

Is it me or did phone companies got greedy and are looking to screw their existing customers.

I am an AT&T customer for over 13 years. My family plan has 4 lines. We aren't the most technologically savvy family. We all have iPhone 7's still. Still on a grandfathered old plan where I pay $141 for 4 phones with taxes and fees included.

I just wanted to gift iphone 12 for my kids for Christmas and called AT&T to inquire about iPhone 12 Pro.

Oh boy. None of the stuff they advertise apply to existing customers.

When did they become so greedy. It was a simple affair in the past. Now it is a different story.

I don't really know, maybe I am getting old.

What the heck?

Do I switch to Verizon to get a cheaper iPhone 12?

All these companies do the same thing. Phone and cable. Screw the existing customers while trying to bring in new ones. Doesn't matter how long your on board. There's no reward for loyalty. The ultimate plan is you leave and come back and repeat the process as many times as possible til death. lol

It's all science to them based on the research. The fight began several decades ago to become a hassle to get rid of them by owning the pipe into your home. Get so much of your needs, phone, internet, TV, home monitoring and anything else they can cram into that pipe because they know the hassle of change on many people.

I am a victim of Apple and ATT that way.
