At the moment Dallas would pick 4th

The challenge is next year's crop isn't looking too rosy either.

Fact is College football is not producing NFL ready qb talent any more. The spread is rampant and these one look play calls from the sideline is just killing any type of progression there used to be. Any QB drafted will take 2 years to develop to quality starter every Sunday.

I hope they blow us out both times. Help us secure a top 3 pick and help us justify showing Garrett the door in the process (i know, i know....we're stuck with him...yadda...yadda....yadda.....).

I don;t care what we get from it - I will never hope to lose, let alone blown out, by the 'Skins. I hate them with a passion.

So you'd rather win a few meaningless games the rest of this season and walk away from this debacle with some moral victories rather than setting up a position to draft a franchise QB that'll keep us relevant for years to come?

I can't cheer for us to lose though I see the value in ending up with the top pick or at least top 5
Just can't do it

I think with Cook, it really depends on where you draft him. I wouldn't spend a first on him, but would gladly take him in the second.

I'm fine with anywhere in the top 5. Gotta take advantage of this opportunity and hit on a blue-chipper, either at QB or DL. Please don't get mesmerized by some DB and take him top 5.

So....we have a terrible team that cannot win without Romo, yet you actually see Jerry and Co drafting a blue chip QB at the top of the draft just to have him sit behind Romo throughout his first contract? Then we have to resign him before he actually is the Cowboys starter, and meanwhile, we enter next season the same way with the same team, no better on offense or defense with our top first rounder?

I'm not saying it's not wise to gamble on a QB next year (though a top 5 QB is a huge contract for a non-starter), but do you really see Jerry doing that over a sure thing at DL, DB, or WR?

Personally, unless there's a Luck or Winston on the board for us, I don't see us taking that gamble. I see a trade down for multiple first rounders, taking a top Safety or DL. Possibly taking a QB gamble on development in rounds 2 or 3, but you can't waste a rare top 5 pick on a QB to sit behind Tony unless he's a super blue-chipper.

No doubt. A top five pick doesn't guarantee anything. You play to win the games period. Anything less than an all out effort to win each week is unprofessional and shameful IMO.

No I was thinking the same thing. Jerry thinks Romo is going to play another 5 years. Even if we pick top 5 he might not take a QB. Then when Romo gets hurt next season, it will be the same old thing.

Won't matter 'cause Dez is still not Dez and playing with a banged up knee. Can't jump.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming we'll win out, I just think he could be a capable back up, maybe win one or 2. he clearly is more comfortable with the offense.(as are most defenses:clap:

Why they wasted so much time on Weeden I'll never know, yea I know, I know, he "has all the tools" but when you're around a guy like weeden as a coach, you have to be able to read he just a big(feline). Choke artist.

Best case scenario for this team is maybe they win a couple more games this year. That's 5-11 at best, IMO. That should at least be in contention for the 5th pick.

I worry about the Washington games. That's still a bad team.

They're still in the hunt for the division though. At least, moreso than we are. They have something to play for

If we can lose out, I like our chances of having a top 2-3 pick. With that, we can stay pat and pick BPA, or trade down and accrue some other high round picks.

I really want OT Laremy Tunsil. IMO, Free is done. Tunsil can give us on the right, what Smith gives us on the left.
