At this point, are the Cowboys hiding Trey Lance?

From other teams, so they can re-sign him again this off season? The less you see, the less you have teams with possible interest. Not sure at this point why many teams would. Please give your thoughts if you think we're holding him out to sign him back in the off season.

What do you think his contract should be?

That is what Broaddus thinks. 4th round picks are a dime a dozen.

Well the Niner’s front office seems to be pretty astute; they took a risk, missed the mark and were able to unload Lance. It was well-known he was raw and inexperienced; moreover, in the few live snaps Lance has had, have not been impressive….so I don’t think some team is going to sign him as a FA.
Like the previous poster alluded to; this is Jerry avoiding blowback for wasting another draft pick, which is a valuable commodity for a team that is not active in free agency.

No. They signed Dak to a big contract, so he is the starting QB, and remember, he wasn't even named the 2nd team QB coming out of camp, so him being at the bottom of the depth chart isn't something new at this point

I doubt it. Honestly not playing the guy in a time where you dont have any playoff chances probably doesn't make him more likely to want to come back to Dallas.

Trey is probably better off going to compete for a spot with a team that runs a lot more RPOs and designed QB runs. I've never thought he really fit as Daks backup simply due to him being a total 180 in terms of skill set.

Yes, one theory is Jerry wants to sign Lance as the QB2 this offseason so he's not showing Trey to other teams.

I say, Lance was trash everytime I saw him play I'm a Dallas uniform, so Jerry is fooling himself.

if we get to resign him and he is capable of being a backup. then we have made progress.
not sure if some QB needy team going to sign him, either to see what he can do or as a bridge to the next guy.
Some team like Carolina, Giants, Raiders. and he may sign with one of those teams to get playing time and experience as opposed to being 100% backup in Dallas.

this was a stupid a trade.

yes.

hiding. But won’t work. Tons of video on the kid.

I would guess 3YR/15M

Jerry loves Lance.

hoping that KMoore takes over. Best thing that could happen for Lance and the team.

How is it stupid?

3rd pick overall 2021 for a 4th?

it’s not like we have tons of QBs with that kind of potential.

Dallas can cut Dak in 2026.

It was a gamble, but it wasn't stupid. He is a young QB that was taken top 3 just a few years ago, it was a worthy the gamble.
It is hard to say what Jerry's mentality is though, is he trying to hide Trey, while also giving Copper the opportunity to audition for a new team next year? Unlike many I seen a lot of upside in Trey especially that last preseason game, he made some throws i don't think even Dak could make, but then, he also threw way too many ints that game as well. I could see them trying to get him signed to a multiyear extension with the hope that by year 2 or 3 he could step in for Dak.
