At this point would you take Wagner for Claiborne straight up?

What exactly is the point of this thread, other than make everyone feel like crap? Besides, we haven't even see claiborne play a game this season, for we all know he might be all-pro

I did not expect this many to say yes. I actually waiting for someone to bring up the 3 yr rule. So you think Claiborne still has the potential to be the better player? Do you think he can stay healthy?

it doesnt even matter if claiborne may be "the better player". They game is evolving to need sped at LB and great safeties. 1 great CB isnt as valuable as a LB who can get deep drops, and have the speed to get to the edge on a run, cover Randall Cobb down the seam and defend the crossing routes.

I was wondering just this afternoon what was it that turned it around for Carroll from his first stint in the NFL.

After having success at USC, I think he gained alot of experience in figuring out what it takes to make a successful college program. That first stint in the NFL probably humbled him in some ways and he learned from it.

The greatest human accomplishments in our history have come from making mistakes. Have you ever seen the MJ Failure commercial video?

Talent?
The right FO?

Much like Jimmy, I think Carroll had a good knowledge of college prospects from his experiences at USC. He knew the players to avoid, like S Taylor Mays, and he also had a clear philosophy that he stuck to in getting his type of players.

I'd also say that he benefited from a good situation to step into as well. He pretty much got a clean slate when he took over the Seahawks and he didn't have some lunatic owner/GM micro managing him as well.

Well, whatever it is- I would love him as the coach for our Cowboys.

PEDs, illegal contact with players, and having a stadium that should be against league rules.

Wagner probably would be a Bruce Carter in this offense. Wagner has the luxury of playing around a ton of other talented players in a stable coaching environment. Throw a bunch of shifting players, head coaches and defensive schemes, and there's no telling how he'd look. Claiborne's problem is him getting injured constantly. I'm sure he'd look a lot better if he was on another tema.

Outside of his intellect and vision...

Familiarity with draftees coming from the college ranks and incredible value on draft picks

I'd take the kicker on their practice squad over Claiborne. He's going down as one of the biggest mistakes in a long line of stupid mistakes istake by Jerry.

Hindsight is always 20-20 -- that age-old cliche sure seems to apply here. Nobody knew Claiborne would turn out as he did but in retrospect, what if Wagner had been the one getting hurt constantly? Would this OP be contending just the opposite? Perhaps so.

I'd throw in a 5th round pick. I don't even need Brockers anymore. Wagner is special.

I don't know how the DL will look this season, but Wagner would not have been special behind the 2013 Cowboys DLine.

Maybe she doesn't like your attitude toward the team you profess to like....just a thought...:D

Say something nice and positive about this team to her, see how she responds...LOL

One thing I will say is that it is true at home or away stadiums is that Cowboys fans always get the ladies.

I totally understand frustration with Clai getting hurt and not playing to potential but I don't understand getting rid of guys completely while they are still on rookie contracts. Hold off being upset for if they resign the guy without showing. If he doesn't produce these next two years he'll be gone THEN you get to say I told you so. It's no lock we woulda hit on the 3rd rounder we gave anyways
