At what point do we seriously start to consider Rush as starter?

Rush clearly reads the field and makes decisions faster than Prescott.

If there is one thing that stands out watching Cooper Rush play it’s how slow Dak Prescott makes decisions.

That does appear to be the case. He is getting the ball out quick, and it's getting to open receivers. Let's see if he can keep that up.

I'm not on board yet with rush over Dak. I'm just glad we're able to hold down the fort with rush. I have to believe we beat the lowly giants by more than 7 points with Dak at QB.

He is already better than Dak. I would not put Dak back in if Rush continues to win games. Would not do it. If Lamb just starts catching balls maybe we have a chance. The drops he had were ridiculous. He did redeem himself but we cant continue to win with his fickle play. It will come back to bite us.

Ask yourself this: if Dak was putting up the same exact numbers/performance as Rush would you be happy or calling for his job? I bet half of you would be calling Dak trash because he can barely scrape together 20 points.

And please don’t bring up the salary discrepancy. Dak’s money is a sunk cost- it’s guaranteed at this point so it’s a non argument.

Point is, I think most of you are falling in love with the backup and not the actual performance, because you would not give Dak the same love for 21/31 for 215 yards, 1 TD

Rush just gives off a confidence that Dak could not. Dak gets to hearing footsteps once he gets a good hit.

You don’t

He’s doing his job as the backup, making enough plays to win while allowing the running game and defense to really dictate the outcome.

But make no mistake, our playbook is much more limited with him. Moore is doing a good job protecting him with lots of easy throws, playaction and bootlegs.
Sorry, but this is a joke

If I were McCarthy, I would let Dak start ONE game once he's healthy and tell him he must turn in the performance of his life or else Rush is permanent starter.

Anything less than a 45-7 Cowboys victory with four TDs from Dak, and Dak is benched.
The hell?

At no point.

Dak had 37 TDs last year, on an off year).
Rush is on pace for 16

people are dreaming if they think Rush is replacing Dak.

Cooper isn't great, but Dak in week 1 was one of the worst QBs I've ever seen.
That's true. I feel this is a discussion that will be more appropriate when we see how Dak plays. If he plays like he did against Tampa Bay then it's a no brainer. The issue is he injured his throwing hand and this season, and the 2nd half of last season/playoffs, he wasn't showing a lot of accuracy to begin with. So we need to see him in action to see if the hand will hurt his throwing and to what degree. But if he plays anything like he played against TB then Rush is our guy.

"Deer in the Headlights" Dak - God bless him - would have thrown at least one pick tonight, which would have been a game changer. I admire the guy, but he's not our guy.

This is very noticeable. Either Dak is slow reading the field or doesn't trust his ability to make the throw. Or he's just straight up scared to let it fly! In addition to processing the game faster than Dak, Coop threw and connected in some tight windows tonight!

Agreed.....his performance was very uncharacteristic of an "elite" QB! He's been in the league 7 years already!....and still can read the field or make consistent throws like the elite ones do!

Dak 6-0 last year, 11-0 as rookie, won 5-0 or more in 2018 , in a A ROW including a playoff win.,.so soon we forget HUh? :):huh:o_O:rolleyes::popcorn:

the hate is inexcusable,
He s*** the bed against the 49ers! The game was there for the taking and he S*** the bed bad.....like diarrhea bad. There's no sleep number bed out there that'll ever help him make up for that loss!

Rush is not particularly dynamic, but is disciplined...playing within himself, not making stupid mistakes. That sort of patience is worth its weight in gold in a tight game, such as the one tonight. Dak would have thrown one or two picks, and rolled the contest totally the other way.

It’s something to think about. Obviously, the Cowboys are winning without an elite QB. The bus driver of all bus drivers right now in Cooper Rush. Defense is playing at an elite level and the running game is effective. You just need a QB to make solid throws in the clutch and Cooper is doing that. Also, makes you realize how big of an issue Kelmo is at developing game plans and in-game strategy.
Right, Rush is the bus driver of all bus drivers. That's a good description. He doesn't do anything to lose the game. He let his defense win the game and his playmakers make plays. We will have a problem on this board, and in Cowboy nation, when Dak comes back and he does something to cause us to lose. Throws an inaccurate pass, turns it over, etc. That's why I believe rushing Dak back is a massive mistake if we're winning and treading water while he's out. If we keep winning with Rush, or more importantly we don't lose because of Rush and Dak comes back prematurely and stinks it up. Man this whole place is going to explode.

What I hope for in this whole thing is the best QB to give us the best chance to win. Don't rush Dak back until he's healthy or can do everything he's used to. I really want Dak, the doctors and the coaches and the GMs to be smart about this and not put Dak in a position to fail. What I'm worried about is Dak coming back and stinking up the joint and then we have real problems. Or maybe the problem will be solved if he plays bad enough to get benched. Who knows, but I hope he's healthy and not pressured to come back.

hopefully, the team gets together and everyone thumb wrestles dak so Rush can continue. Remember "the season is over crap" we'll never win without ole chicken with his head cut offrunning around running the QB position.

He keeps winning but his production isn’t very good and we’re struggling to score points. Granted we scored some in the fourth quarter but our offense overall has been pretty blah. He’s played solid and hasn’t turned the football over but he certainly isn’t what you want as your full-time starter. We’re winning games with our defense. As the season goes on and we start playing better teams we’re going to need more offense. Good luck beating some of the better teams and QBs in the league if Rush is only putting up 200 or so yards and one touchdown every week. We’re not going be able to play from behind with this offense. If we get down by two or more scores we’re going to be done!

Offense is blah because it’s been limited because of Rush. Run first & throw only when necessary. Run has been very effective and opened up the pass. Don’t know how long this works and what it does against the better teams. It’s working for now as long as the D plays at this high level and keeps the team in the game. It was 6-6 going into the 4th…

Define talented....the ONLY thing Dak has over Rush is arm strength. At one time, I'd say his legs.....not so much now.

More accurate, more wins, more TDs and so on.

Rush has won two games, guys. We're all excited we're winning but let's calm down a bit here.

Dak has done what Rush has done for a longer period of time, at a higher level, versus better competition

There is little to no tape on Cooper Rush. Let's see how he does when teams actually faces a tough defense and DCs start game planning for him.

Cooper Rush did a great job, but thinking he should supplant Dak after a couple of wins is laughable.

The same thing he should be doing with Dak as well. When Zeke and Pollard get going it's going to make it easy for everyone.

Clearly? Based on eeking out this win over the Giants?

Dak has sliced and diced the Giants and the rest of the NFC East six ways from Sunday but one Cooper Rush win has people overdosing on the anointing oil. Amazing.
exactly...biggest thing i see during the last 2 weeks in MOORE he calls a very different game for Rush then he does for Prescott. there run heavy and balance. for some reason he seems to just call mostly pass pays for Dak and allows dak to audible into run if it looks better.

Daks A far better qb then rush But Moore needs to call the game the same way and Dak and this team will be better off..daks better, period and deserves his job back. that why, the national media's saying, the coaches are saying it,

and ALL SANE fans not wearing dak Hate goggles would say, dak should get his job back... hes clearly a better qb...

hes had far better win streaks..jeez how about 11, 6, 3 in 2019 and in 2018 that late run what 5 in a row? i mean do we have a bunch of fans with selective memory. Nothing Rush has done has been impressive with the exception hes not messing it up, hes doing just enough. that great we found out the coaches and owner KNEW Rush was the best choice and did have plan at WR, OL, and Defense..even Maher was the best choice.

all this love for player(s) most here came out and said Rush is trash and we were DONE when dak went down unless we traded for a better qb.. Noah browns was called trash they wanted smith or Vasher, Tyler 73 wouldn't hold up and shouldn't thbe the LT they wanted some expensive vets left over , Jerry had NO plan, Maher worst ever choice, and we wouldn't win another game this season.

HEY MODS can you go back after daks injury week one and please PIN all those posts back up and highlight and call out every zoner who said those things and now are flipping their opinion and now are saying the opposite. hypocrites.

go pin mine i said rush would be the best choice because he knew the offense and dak would be back before you could get anther qb ready to play.
odd how narratives get busted.

so now Dak comes back and pays the better teams lie he did with the Bucs now maybe rams eagles B2B and will be under fan microscope. they are clearly better then Bengal's, giants and commanders..

so now the morons will say look we took rush out and lost and will claim they are right.
thats not how it works..

Dak will be playing better teams, period. he give us the best chance to win those games because we will need MORE Offense and Rush is don't screw it up a Bus driver.. most underwhelming production at qb, which is fine but we will need MORE offense and daks the qb to do it on our roster. win or lose its the best decision and im getting tired head having to wake up fans with moronic statements about how Rush should keep the job.

if you do not know or agree, well, you are clueless.
