At what point does Dak get the playbook to work with skilled players?

Probably not for a month or so, at least as to all the changes. Maybe just some basic stuff until then. Then they may want his opinion, as what he likes and what he is better at doing.
The coaching staff still working on it most likely.
This is all guess work from me. But seems logical it will be 2 to 4 weeks before the 1st OTA's.

Also they will need to adjust a few things as players leave and new come in. Such as what do they do with Zeke. I am sure there would be plays that need to be switched up for the type of RB they have.
Rather Zeke or a rookie, or Pollard plus a rookie.
So it would not be wise for Dak or any player to study plays that may not be there. Unless they feel the offense is a plug and play type.

Again just my opinion.

I doubt there is any “new playbook” as the Jones boys constantly emphasize playcalling, like Jerry did when Callahan took over and they went right back to getting another Coryell guy in Linehan. They gave Brian Schottenheimer the OC for a reason.

Wow perfectly said sir!!!! I'm happy to see what changes will be! For the last how many seasons I feel like we've seen the same offense

So basically the first half or more of next season will be a disaster as everybody continues to learn the "new" playbook. Sounds positive already, lol

I get so tired of hearing that lol, like seriously NOBODY spent time in the off season or during the game week of prep getting the plays scripted and learned?? How long does it take to learn these plays

Seeing that the offensive coaches won't be at the combine too long due to working on the new offense. When does Dak get a hold of the playbook to develop comfortability with the guys he'll be throwing to in 2023??

You'd think an elite QB would adapt to most any play-book. The frightening realisation may be that during the past couple of years his hitting stationary targets or curls IS the playbook that best suits Dak.
I'll die on the hill that says Hilton was open and that signing a 'named' WR doesn't make the QB better if he can't find him.

Can't find him, can't get it to him, ball isn't placed where it should be

The reality is Dak is a TO machine.

He was on pace in 2020 before the injuries to be a league leader in TOs, with 7 TOs in 5 games.

Again, this idea Dak protects the ball is a myth. The guy runs the system given to him and the more responsibility given to him, the more he demonstrates his limitations. It was Linehan’s scheming that helped him protect the ball as well.

In 2017, when Dak started off upto when Linehan took the passing reigns from him after the Denver game, he threw I think 2 pick 6s at that point. He had 4 INTs and 1 fumble in his first five games, then Linehan went really run heavy with Zeke. Then Zeke was suspended and against Atlanta, he added 2 more fumbles to his stat count and then threw 3 INTs against the Eagles and so on.

Dak is now throwing pick 6s at an alarming rate the “more aggressive” they tell him to be.

So 2016 was basically where the “legend” was born and afterwards the scherade continued for who knows how..

My thread was deleted highlighting Dak's turnover issues and I may not be posting here anymore after today.

I gave no opinions in that thread, but instead posted stone cold facts, and it was deleted without any reason given.

If I cannot post facts then I will find another place to post.
You’ll just create a new log in

I am sure you have watched Cowboys football the last 28 years, and to this day I am not sure anybody has learned the play book...or, if it has even existed, lol.

Easy as it's been all these years, should only take 4 minutes to learn lol

With Dak, there's been Linehan, then Moore and now McCarthy/Schottenheimer.

So he's only on his 3rd try of playcallers in 8 years.
It's still a process.

Patience.
It took the Cubs 108 years to win a championship in baseball.

27 years of waiting ain't nothing.
Patience my friend.

It will be easy for Dak to learn. All the WRs will run a button hook straight ahead from where they line up, then after a two-count the RB will trot out to the right & 3 yds behind the LOS for the dump off option.
