Either way there isn't a point in wasting a roster spot if they can't find a way to make him productive. Maybe things will be different next year with the new staff.

He could come up at any time. It is actually good to have him stashed. It's also a good thing to have 4 healthy backs.

I think Dak's record is around 80-90% when his RB rushes for over 100 yards. Interestingly, Jerry did nothing to upgrade the position, especially knowing he was going to extend Dak. In other words, the more he invests seriously in the RB position, the better chance he has of getting his money's worth for Dak's contract.
