At what price could Laremy Tunsil be had?

A lot, I’m thinking. Plus it would be a lot of salary cap space. A double whammy for the Cowboys.

I think the Texans gave up two first round picks to Miami for him initially… but I’m not 100% sure.

I mentioned all of the following in a different thread but will add it to this. Team that gets him only has to pay 2 years 19 million while Houston not only loses there LT but has to eat around 34 million in dead money

It would be a significant trade haul. Tunsil has a decent amount of penalties but is still a fringe top 10 LT in the league.

I would imagine a 2nd and a 4th would be the absolute minimum for talks to even begin and something higher like a 1st and comp 3rd or 2nd and 3rd would be realistic for a team like us whose bad at negotiating and really desperate

Houston is in a rebuild, owes a 34 million dollar cap hit in 2023 on him (can save 18.5 by getting him off the books) and only has the rights to him for this year and next so he is a realistic trade target if the compensation is good enough

Just don’t get why Houston would trade him for less than a king’s ransom. They gave up a lot for him picks wise and his dead cap is pretty high. If they are willing to eat that dead cap it has to be a worthy price

A trade for Tunsil today will be twice as expensive as he would have been two weeks ago. It will cost at least first rounder and some change IMO. Or at least that’s the opening salvo from Houston.

Dead cap is funny money. High draft picks are relatively cheap. It makes some sense for them if they truly are trying to follow a 2 year or three year plan.

for sure. But I just can’t see this front office at this stage spending a 1st or even a 2nd + for a left tackle now. At worst they’ll pull another Cooper trade when they release all the internal options can’t handle the task and the season is slipping away due to poor blindside protection.
There’s a market for Tunsil just don’t think Dallas is seriously considering it though

Does anyone seriously think Cap Boy is even pondering such a trade?

LOL, Cap Boy is currently going back again and sifting through the empty dumpsters to see if anything got stuck and left behind. He will scrape it off, and voila.....our starting LT. Just like it was planned all along. These two meatheads, i mean, FO execs are good.

If they want to win they should be. Even if Tyler is our LT we need a backup LT. Had Tyron not gotten hurt we still need a backup LT. These guys are playing with fire.

This D looks ready to go. Why waste your 40 million QB year and not protect him? Two more years and he’s getting 50 million.

Houston makes Dallas look like the best run franchise in the NFL. Something in the water in Texas. That is not bragging... just the odd position the state of Texas football is dealing with.

Cost would likely be way too much for the Jones boys at this point. Now if we get to October, we are floundering and it's clear we have a real issue at LT? Then they'll drop their pants and get hoodwinked on a deal for sure.

They can't evaluate Davis Mills in a serious fashion if they trade him, not going to happen
