Apparently he's a Free Agent.
Any thoughts?
The man can play, does he have a tender?

Roy Williams part 2.

Dude gets burnt like toast.

Really? He was hurt most of the season last year so durability would be my concern with him but I remember him being quite rangy and opportunistic. Heck when he got hurt playing against us we were really able to attack that safety spot but were having problems before.

Green Bay plays a lot of man to man coverage and left the safeties free to make plays. Felt he was real good 2 seasons ago especially locating the ball in the air. I certainly don't feel he's anything like Roy Williams is at safety and would not be opposed to bringing him in. He is 5'11", 213 lbs and is 27. Think he would be phenominal depth but he could start for a lot of teams if he could remain durable and get back to his 2 season ago form.

If he understands his role will be transitioning with Scandrick and Hamlin and doesn't need to be a clear cut starter for a fair price I say get him here to at least evaluate him. Didn't know he was a FA, nice snag OP.

Don't forget, when GB played us they had the safeties also play over top the corners at times so they were constantly in coverage as opposed to being in the box. That definitely doesn't sound like Roy to me. I remember WR's catching balls when he tried to double cover over top. These guys layed the blue how to slow T.O for the rest of the season.

If we're going to look for a Bigby type of talent...

I'm available.

And cheaper.

Yes, Pacers tendered him at a 2nd rounder. I'll take a S in the second round over Bigby any day.

Nevermind then.
He's not worth a 2nd.

Well if he's tendered at all I wouldn't want him. Definitely agree with you taking a 2nd round safety drafted by us over him.

Have you honestly seen Bigby play???

Dude gets beat like hell. He would not transition well playing in a Wade Phillips 3-4. Why do you think they didn't sign him??? Because they went to the 3-4 and he is not a 3-4 safety.

Safeties in a 3-4 have to play more coverage.

Troy Polamlu and Rodney Harrison certainly don't have much range yet excelled in a 3-4. I'd even say Pittsburgh other safety Ryan Clark doesn't have that much. This whole 3-4 safety vs 4-3 safety thing to me seems silly, guys like RW38 are just obsolete, but him in a 4-3 he may play better because he'll have more confidence, but he'll still get burnt when ever he's targeted deep

Bigby for the most part has been pretty good.

I hear Nick Collins might be available next season though.

Saw him pay a couple times and he made some plays, didn't remember him getting torched but I'm sure you're not imagining things. Apparently he isn't just set free and GB put a 2nd round tender on him. He's a restricted FA.
