Atlanta game was a tough one in our family.

My oldest son's favourite team is the Falcons and it was crushing to see my 11 year old son go to his room after the game and put his head under the covers.

That's no alot of fun for a father who enjoys watching football games with his boys. My other son is a Seahawks fan.

As for the game, I'm not sure if Jones is understanding the importance of the games he is in. There seems to be a lack of intensity on his running, especially when the play is stuffed.

I like how BP is using this situation with Jones and Barber though. In the 4th when the defence is tired he brings on a heavy dose of Barber who must demoralize the defence with his fresh and harder running legs.

Can't for the life of me understand how we are not able to cover a FB. Is our coverage schemes so complex that the LBs are unable to coordiante who has the right flat and who covers the left flat?

Lastly, do you get the feeling that the opposing OCs are determined to have their QBs throw down the field once they see the last names on the jerseys of our DBs be it Newman, Henry, Williams or Watkins/Davis?

Is Zimmer more than willing to take his chances with deep shots as opposed to giving up the middle of the field by keeping one of his safeties back deep?

It seems to be a departure from the old bend, but don't break defence of the Campo days.

Despite my son's feelings, this was a less than satisfying win and I still have a queasy feeling about the team.

Tell your son to get over it. Life goes on...The Cowboys won...I do not care who's feelings are hurt...:)

...that's a low blow! I've tried everything with those two. Since they have been born it has been nothing but Cowboys.

It was deflating when three years ago he wrote on his Santa List that he wanted a Michael Vick jersey.

It's really QC's fault. In Madden 04 my son loves to rack up the score with Vick. Carter can't do squat in the game according to him.

The years after that aren't any better. He gets to choose from Hutch, Vinny and Bledsoe.

Maybe with 08 and Romo I can get him excited about his second favourite team and nose them into the lead.

He's still young and impressionable.
Man, I can't wait to see Romo's ability on Madden, what with how the real Madden drools all over him.

My brother is 11 years old and an Eagles fan (It's his mom's fault) It is kinda deflating when you see his team get hammered. Then I remember he made the damn fool decision to cheer for McNabb and the Eagles and don't feel so bad anymore. At any rate, it's gonna be pretty intense at home on Xmas and I have a feeling he's not gonna be a happy camper after the game in the afternoon.

It sounds to me like you didnt get to your sons early enough. Some of my earliest memories are of my father and i watching Cowboys football. This was back in about mid eighties and the decline of what was once a tremendous dynasty. I remember him teaching me the rules of the game such as what down and distance represented and various penalties.

I too played video games and especially back then the Cowboys were a very difficult team to have success with but i remember as a kid the immense glee that i would get when I was able to get my team to annhilate the opposition.

A vidoe game is no reason to be a fan of any team.

you let your kid root for michael vick???????? oh my god he's like the trashiest in the laegue i'd have rubbed it in his face and told him who's your daddy that would have been the funniest standing there telling your own son who's your daddy!! now go to your room and think about what you've done!! cheering for the atl. falcons what a disgrace where's the vicksta at now son!!!:lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao2:

This whole thread is cracking me up. Gotta love it guys! :D

I bet your boy hated to see Demarcus Ware intercept Vick and run it in. What a fabulous play by Ware. Definitely highlight reel worthy. :)

Thats what you get for letting him grow up to be a Falcon fan. LOL! My Mom, Uncle and cousins are all Giant fans we have had some pretty big arguments over it too.

Romo is rated 82 on the latest roster update on Madden.

That being said, I wouldn't recommend that dog turd of a video game for anyone, on the xbox 360 anyway.

EA Sports exclusivity deal with the NFL is definitely hurting the quality of the game without Sega's 2K series to deal with anymore.

Truely a dark time for football video gamers.

Not to stick my nose into your family business, but don't you think it would go better if you didn't do the chicken dance everytime the Cowboys score?

Good to know that Madden Bowl is ruining families across the world.

Now I know that if I have a son, he will only play Techno Bowl '93.

For my wife, son, and daughter it's Cowboys only at my house. My kids wouldn't dream of pulling for any other NFL team. I have taught them from a very young age that band wagon fans suck. Stick with your home team through thick and thin.

GO COWBOYS!!!

That is my worst Nightmare, I would have my children switch religions then not sit with there Father and watch the Cowboys thats a rite of passage. Do you think they would stand for that in Green Bay, they would make you pack up your family,

All 3 of my kids are HUGE Cowboys fans. I don't get how the offspring of a Cowboys fan can be anything other than a Cowboys fan. Of course, I've totally brainwashed the 3 of them since the day they were born and we live in Texas.

BTW, taking my youngest to his first Cowboys game this coming Monday vs. the eagles.

David

Explain to him that Vick in the Madden video game is the cheapest, cheese player EVER. You don't have to be good to score a lot with him. Madden made him so good that it's like a cheat code. How fun can that really be?

If that doesn't work, you simply man up and tell him:

"Look, when you grow up and are paying your own way thru life and watching your own TV you can cheer for whoever you want. Until then, I don't want to hear any grief out of you when MY team wins! This is MY house and I am the boss! If you don't like it, go to your damn room and be quiet!"

(I have to make speeches like this about myriad things quite often in my house)

...attend a Cowboys game live would probably tip the balance.

It doesn't help that the football team I coached this year the kids were giving me the gears when we were losing early in the season with Bledsoe under the center.

Shouting "In your face!" 17 times probably didn't help his confidence.

...watch games at the Army and Navy Vets Hall, but because the it was night and the boys like to watch games with me I stayed home.

It was the quietest I have ever been during a game. Every so often I would peek a glance over at my son to see how he was doing. I don't think he has any fingernails left.
