I really think if Garrett had wanted the Baltimore job he would have accepted it right away. Doubt they would have low balled him knowing the Falcons also interested. The only way he accepts the Falcons offer is for a long-term guaranteed deal which would allow him to totally rebuild that team w/o threat of losing his job in 3 years.

Atlanta needs to put a new face on the franchise. Dog gate and HC leaving after not even completing a full season. Garrett is the all American boy.
I would think he would get what ever he wanted.

On the other hand, I'm also hoping he realizes he needs to gain more coaching experience to handle the HC job. "

Let's add up the facts.

1. Rare opportunity, there are only 32 of these jobs. Two are open, forget Washington hiring a Cowboy.

2. Garrett is hot right now. Just like Petrino,Cam Cameron, Rodriguez and Grimm last year. Hot turns cold fast in the NFL.

3. Garrett is hot!!!!!! with as bad a finish as your can have.
How does a 10-6 loss in Philadelphia ,a 20-14 win in Carolina, and a dismal no offense loss in Washington with -1 yd. rushing, leading up to a dismal 17 point effort at home on two weeks rest, how does that look on the old resume.

Garrett ought to grab whatever he can get right now.

Ever heard the observation give a guy two weeks to prepare for you and ....
Well how did Garrett prep this group with two weeks rest.

Jerry's a gambler. No matter how much I believe he's changed, I just can't shrug the feeling that he's about to shock everyone with a ballsy "Jerry" move. He's not a guy that's afraid to make that call, no matter what he says publicly.

Jerry may not have been enough of a gambler regarding Garrett. What he was is a "cake and eat it too" guy.

We wanted Garrett and pegged him as the eventual HC. If that was Jerry's plan then he should have pulled the trigger and found some solid and experienced coordinators to put around Red.

I don't think ATL knows what the hell they are doing. Atlanta is the only NFL team that has a majority of African American season ticket holders. Atlanta is coming off terrible press for a number of reasons. Atlanta has players who hated the last coach and made him miserable.

This is a team that needs a motivational guy. This is a team that needs a guy with skins on the wall either as a coach or a player. This is a team that regrets its last choice.

This is NOT a team that needs the latest flavor of the month coordinator. This is NOT a team whose season ticket holders are going to get excited over some Opie-looking boy wonder.

This is a team who almost hired Mike Singletary last year. ATL needs to get Singletary.
