Asking permission to interview him doesn't mean he is #1 on their list, just that he is on the list. They have to get that interview in during the bye week or they will never get it in time. Also, we need to wait and see Garrett's response. I think he should interview because its good experience but he may just tell them no thank you.

Mike Singletary
Rex Ryan
Jim Caldwell

were also mentioned as potential candidates for interview.

If I were Garrett, I'd ask for the moon and see if I get it. That means cash but also a GM/coach role. Why the heck not? If he doesn't get what he wants, he knows the Cowboys coaching position is his within a few years.

Anyone know the rule about interviewing assistant coaches during the playoffs?

Hopefully Garrett will do what Kubiak did in Denver and stick around. Of coarse Phillips isnt exactly Shanahan.

If we do lose Garrett (and I emphasize IF), who do you guys like to see replace him?

I'm sorta intrigued if we could pry Martz away from the Lions. I'm not sure if our current roster fits his offensive philosophy, but I can't help wonder if he could enjoy the same success he did w/ the Rams w/ players like Romo, Owens, Witten and Barber.

Also, does anyone know what his relationship is like w/ Roy Williams (Detroit's RW)? If all is well btwn the 2, maybe it'll be more reason for RW to want to come join us?

I realize this is far fetched, but...
