I went to see the Cowboys and Chiefs in the 90's and there were alot of Chief fans in attendance. They were singing their Indian tomhawk chop song(Florida State) or whatever it 's called during the game. But Dallas prevailed at the end and the Cowboy fans started singing their song back at them. It was really quite funny.

thought I'd post that to show what Celtic soccer (and Europe in general) is like

i was there that night, was incredible. particularly the second goal to win it in stoppage time. the stand was literally bouncing, think i ended up about 3 rows in front of my seat :D

just a quick question. i'm scottish and my main sport i follow is football, or soccer to you guys. was over staying with the girlfriends folks in san antonio and found myself sitting having a beer with her dad watching the cowboys at green bay and got back into american football which i hadn't watched for years. since i was in texas the cowboys seemed the logical team to support so went home the proud owner of a tony romo jersey and have since found myself sitting up till half 3 in the morning watching the cowboys on poor quality streams online.
i've got a season ticket for celtic and the atmosphere on big games - mainly european games on a wednesday night or whatever the atmosphere in the ground is incredible, mainly due to singing. i was just wondering what the atmosphere was like at texas stadium and whether theres any singing or anything like that? hopefully in the next couple of years will be able to get over to the new stadium and experiance it for myself
cheers in advance

Go Celtic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm off to a celtic bar to watch the rangers game today just now hopefully to see them drop points against dundee united then bus up to celtic park where all going well we'll beat hearts and extend our lead at the top of the table. should be a decent atmosphere today.
tommorow i'm back to my new second sports passion. unfortunately its the late start which means i need to sit up till 1 in the morning before the game against the giants even starts but i'm off on monday so cant complain too much

beer goes without saying, besides it enhances the viewing of any sport

thought i'd give you all a wee example of the kind of atmosphere i was talking about

That's Awesome. It reminds me of the atmosphere I experience when dragged to my first soccer game when I was stationed over in German. Needless to say, that guy and I are still good friends and German beer (actually any European beer) is king. I actually ended up making attendance a regular thing while over there. The fans are amazing and the brats are heavenly. :D

thats the most i've sworn in a long long time, rangers drew and then in our game the ref gave us absolutely nothing. the crowd was going mental and it finished a 1 all draw. still four points clear at the top of the league so i'm off back to the same pub for a celtic/irish band and lots of beer!!!
as for tommorow night and the cowboys giants game as we say over here
"c'mon the f**kin cowboys, get f**king tore into the f**kers right from the f**king start"
hey i'm scottish. we drink and we swear ;)

i remember "happy birthday dear celtic" getting sung in our centenerary year in '88. as has a way of happening we won the league and cup that year. i was only 6 at the time so my memory of it isn't great unfortunately

As someone who has grown up watching and playing football (soccer) and has since fallen in love with American football as well, i can honestly say you would be hard pressed to match the intensity and atmospher that soccer generates in most countries.

There are stadiums where the crowd is particularly in-tune with the game and thier team and are vocal about it during the appropriate time but TX stadium is not one of those places based on my experience.

One of the issue for American football is that you have to keep the crowd noice to a minimum when the offense is on the field, so the QB can communicate with his teammates.

If it led to a riot, i guess it could compare.

be fair buddy im 26 and have been going to football (or soccer) as long as i can remember. in all that time i have only ever been involved in one bar fight and even that wasn't really proper. was before a game against manchester united and me and my dad were stood drinking with a guy from manchester, buying him whisky as he was visiting our country and we were being the hospitable hosts, when it all kicked off - the fight not the football - the only involvement i had was grabbing my dad and pulling him out the way as a glass smashed on my back. we're not all rioting drunks, some of us even read books or listen to classical music and, heaven forbid, watch the same sport as you do!

While you have the reply box open hit Ctrl Alt Del all together twice. ;) That usually does it for me.
