No, the Dallas Cowboys deserve better. It's a privilege for anybody to work for this great franchise, including Tony Romo. Tony Romo deserves better to play for this clown of a head coach and ths 'owner'. The franchise deserves better than this clown of a HC and owner.

I would buy this if there wasn't a dude with a noodle arm in Denver about to break the record for TDs in a season.

Manning isn't Brunell, but he can certainly sling the rock better than Romo.

Peyton routinely makes these throws.

Romo does not.

Only Payton Manning and Drew Brees have thrown for more TDs this year than our "bus driver", and only Alex Smith has thrown for less ints (1).

How do you back up your statement when reality disagrees with you?

It was a bit of exaggeration, but you cannot tell me that Romo's role isn't more bus-driver than it has been.

He's playing not to lose rather than to win, which is indicative of a bus driver; hence the low interception totals, and Alex Smith is a horrible comparison when you consider that he is the ultimate bus driver and that low interception totals actually accompany such a performance.

Romo doesn't (can't? won't?) throw down field. He doesn't give his guys an opportunity to make plays. He just puts himself in position to not make the mistake.

Film don't lie.

Romo is also part of the problem.

I'm sure someone will misconstrue that as the loss being Romo's fault, but that's not what I mean at all.

We have a quarterback who can't threaten the entire field with his arm and doesn't seem to possess the ability to buy time with his legs any longer. He's made a lot of smart decisions, but the guy has basically put forth a bus driver effort this year in all but the Denver game.

We can't have that from a quarterback that commands as much of the cap as he does.

In the last post I forgot to point out that Romo is 12th in yards, 16 in yards per attempt.

And if anything, his TD stats are inflated a bit by Dez Bryant, the best redzone weapon in the league.

The difference is Manning throws aroun 40 times a game on the regular and he establishes rhythm. We have no rhythm on offense.

I don't see the film nor do I know (or really, understand) this offense as far as why he isn't throwing downfield. But he definitely has the arm for that 45 yard throw that you posted.

Think back. When is the last time he's hit a receiver like that. The only time I can think of, this year, would be the T Will TD against the Broncos.

How many more times have we seen Dez have to adjust and come back to the ball when it's more than 35 yards down field?

How many more times have we seen the great Dez Bryant save the day?

and even worse was this one...

I'm sure you can think of more.

I'm sure Romo can hit his receivers every now and then. But defenses don't fear it because it's not a consistent threat.

Yes, Tony has the talent, but he has been surrounded by ineptitude for most of his career. Guy like Manning and Brees have good coaching to help them with the decisions they make, they do not do it all alone. They are put in good situations that enable them to make good decisions and good throws. Tony has not had that help. It's not sandlot football out there, you don't just drop back and heave it as far as you can, there are multiple dynamics that go into great QB play.

I think Romo has definitely become risk averse. Which is fine; the offense isn't as good as it ought to be, but it's not bad either. it rarely turns the ball over and the points/yards is much better this year. It needs to improve on third down and I still think that it has execution problems that come from being too complicated, but personnel wise I have few complaints right now.

It's just the same old thing we have been seeing for several seasons, no discipline and not playing smart football, which all comes back to poor coaching.

I hope he is finally fed up with this grossly dysfunctional franchise's crap and demands a trade.

Frankly, I hope Dez, Sean Lee, and Ware (though I doubt Ware could demand much) follow suit.

SCORCHED EARTH

There is no way you can make this statement and not be putting one player above the team.

This has been my biggest complaint about Romo. The sycophants that revere him see Romo first and then the team.

The team will be here long after Romo is done and Jerry is in an urn on Stephen's mantle.

Unless that ego-maniacal bastige creates a plexiglass dome and puts his urn on a pedestal in the Death Star for all the fans to see.

He better make sure graffiti paint doesn't stick to that monument.

A couple of things working against you on this.
- He's overpaid, knows he's overpaid, and is perfectly happy just being overpaid. He's said it before himself, "if this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I've lived a great life."
- Nobody is going to take on his contract.
- We couldn't afford to trade him.

I think Romo is outstanding, but I had (and have) my reservations about that contract.

As for the "if this is the worst thing" comment, well, he was 1000% right. The context of that was that his father was battling cancer at the time--if people would just remember that, maybe that comment would never be mentioned again. I think some media members and fans just ran with it becasuse it was a license to hate more. Since he has never been one to explain thngs or defend himself, it just got a life of it's own.

No, us fans deserve better.

I'm assuming you mean better quarterbacking, correct? In your opinion, if we had a Cam Newton or a Rapistburger or a Matt Ryan (all you've said are better than Romo in your portfolio of Romo bashing posts and threads), would we have a more successful football team?
