Hint hint Jerry. We need a back up QB. And we all know how you love the bad boys! lol.

No, when that Vick deal all went down I said that by the time Vick is released "The Fat Akli Smith with an arm" AKA JaMarcus Russell will have played himself out of the league and the Raiders will sign Vick. So far Russell is keeping up his end of the deal.

Why that description?

Uh because that is what Russell reminds me of. It seems like a pretty clear cut description.

Just wondering because you said it as though other shared the same thought. Quoting it and all like that was a common description.

Had not heard anyone label him that.

For real? I hate both the man and the player. I like quarterbacks who can throw the ball.

With teams inplementing the wildcat offense Vick could be in hot demand when he gets out!

Seriously though, in a backup QB I want someone who can run a bit and makes things happen with his feet, not Vick though. I still think we should have worked Stanback at both positions, 3rd QB and WR also.

The wildcat is a fad that will go away.

Ugh. No. Not ever. There is no way even Jerry is going to touch that headcase with a 100 foot pole when he gets out. He's going to be given some shot by some useless, hack, of an organization like the Raiders but he won't get his shot here in Dallas.

He sign a one year deal....

and then sign for big money somewhere else. Dont know if he will play QB or WR... but cant teach 4.3 speed. And he is still too young to just lose it. Take him a year or so to get back it but he will be a weapon for someone.

A fat Akili Smith? It's hard for me to imagine a guy that Russell is LESS like than Akili Smith.

Smith was a guy who only played 1 season of "real" college football for Oregon, and was drafted for his promising athleticism.

Russell was a 2 year starter, won a national championship coming out of the SEC, and was drafted for his absolute cannon of an arm and his freakish size. A closer comparison would be some combination of Jeff George and Daunte Culpepper.

(This is not to say, by the way, that Russell is any good. I personally didn't like the pick and still don't like it)

I said from day one... even before day one... that Vick would be back in the league.

I believe it then and I believe it now.

Anyone who says with any certainty that he wont be allowed back into the NFL is looking at it the wrong way... many wrong ways....

I've thought it; Jerry would not shy away from a signing such as this if the day ever did come. Nor do I think it would be the end of the world. Not too mention he has always wanted "his Vick", which was what Quincy Carter was under no uncertain terms and exactly why we drafted him.

While I believe that Jerry would sign just about anyone... the simple truth is... Vick is not talented enough.

He is a GREAT athlete. Possibly a better RB than a QB.
He brings nothing of value to this team.
