Hollie Huggins from 4th and Long
---------------------

She kind of rips the players about how they came into this thing not in good condition at all. And that they were a little shocked at hard Irvin and his staff were going at them.

She also has a good story about being in the practice bubble a few weeks before it collapsed while taping the show.

She's giving away good stuff too. Says three guys get separated shoulders in some scrimmages that are coming up.

And she was a Cowboys Cheerleader as well.

Not done yet. She's also a writer too...

Sounds like the marrying type of gal, lol.

Did she say the Bull Ring was outlawed by Pop Warner? What the hell?

And she said what I thought. These guys were just puking so much because they weren't in shape to start with.

Of course they did.

Kids can't do anyting anymore.

This country is raising a bunch of ninnies.

The best is when I heard about some places not keeping score anymore. They just let the kids play sports and never determine a winner or a loser.

This way everyone loses, lol.

So they're actually playing a game....against semi-pro and arena league players.

Receivers catching balls from QBs they've never played with..

And a literal who's who of defensive guys..

And a real sports broadcaster to anounce the game...

Seriously, this show has jumped the shark..

The scene with Jerry had me laughing and laughing and laughing.

Jerry was trying to hard to feed the camera the BS they wanted, lol.

I have no problem with the cut tonight but I really thought that Moses would be the one to go after he pretty much got abused in the game.

I came out of this show really liking both Hawkins and Holley.

What bothers me is when I read that players like Stanback go to Irvin for coaching. I think ***? What's our WR coach doing?

(I can't pass this up. Sorry in advance, lol.)

Our WR's coach still has ringing in his ears and he can't hear anything yet because somebody was screaming in his face all the time.

I am going to hav eto make a thread in the political zone for most of what I want to say but I will say what I can here.

First of all it is your generation that is making the rules. If anyone is raising ninnies its the generation that is doing the complaining to be blamed.

Second of all the athletes that are of the current generation are superior to anything that has come before. We are stronger, faster and simply better athletes.

Quite frankly the baby boomer generation likes to complain about generation x and the text generation but at the end of the day all they have done is make a mess of things.

Everything Holley does is impressive. That guy is a football player, point blank.

Do you think they will notice if we just swapped Stanback out with him, they sort of have the same hair, they may not even notice?

She is totally right about that, these players including speedy gonzalez came into this thing thinking this would be a cake walk and not as hard to do. Boy, were they surprised.

She also has a good story about being in the practice bubble a few weeks before it collapsed while taping the show.

Uh, oh wonder if michael irvin knows this?

'4th and Long' -- Texas-ex Erick Jackson is out

Barry Horn E-mail News tips

Well we finally got to see more of Duncanville's Erick Jackson during Week 3 of the Michael Irvin "so you wanna be a Cowboy" show on Spike. Unfortunately for the former Longhorns defensive back that's because he was cut.

That leaves nine hopefuls remaining - 5 wide receivers and 4 defensive backs.

The 6-1, 195-pound Jackson apparently has all the physical tools but lacks in the heart department on the show. He's only 24. He should have been just what the Cowboys are looking for.

I'll say this: I never liked his reason for not already playing in the NFL. He blamed it on a bad agent.

I wonder if people will blame his relatively quick exit on his being just another pampered Longhorn-ex who under performs when he leaves the friendly confines of Austin. It was Jackson who complained that being forced to run every up and down every step in the Cotton Bowl was "slave-ship work."

My personal favorite Andrew Hawkins, a 5-7, 175-pound receiver from Toledo, won the "bull in the ring" competition, which Bill Bates pointed out for the cameras is so tough it has been banned in high schools.

I think Irvin's has two favorites. Montrell Jones is a 6-2, 205-pound wide receiver who played at Tennessee and Louisville. "A beast" was Irvin's description. Then again Jones' problem in college was "weed and women." Donte Gamble is a 5-8, 165-pound defensive back who is 30 years old. He will never live down that he once played in the semi-pro Patti LaBelle Football League. Irvin called him "a phenomenal little player." Remember, Irvin alone gets the final call.

Still haven't seen much of defensive back Eddie Moten, the Lancaster High grad, who has been an invisible man on the show.

I admit I haven't watched much beyond the first few minutes of the debut. Can these players play or is it the joke it looks like?

Please, please, please... don't put the name of the person voted off the show in the thread title.

Some of us aren't able to watch the show when it airs.

I didn't like Jackson's attitude so it didn't hurt my feelings he got booted even though I thought the other DB would go first.

The one thing I didn't understand about the game was at times it didn't look like either the wr's or the db's from the show were in the game. On that last play I didn't see a player with a number on their jersey.
