Here's Todd Archer on KTBB.com with David Smoak talking about Wade being a doofus and what he's seeing at the combine...

Archer on KTBB with Smoaky

The more Wade avoids the media the worse he looks as the supposed leader of this team. As if he could look any worse than he does now, lol.

That's what I want to know too.

How is this plan coming along Wade? What are some of the parameters, stipulations, talking points of the plan?

I am not even excited about the combine or the draft yet, but I am hoping the drills beginning tomorrow will get me into draft mode.

Maybe people should just realize that their perception of a player or coach is just that- a perception.

And perceptions aren't always totally accurate of what that person really is about...

Interesting he thinks Wade will talk to the media by the end of the Combines.

I think Wade can talk, he just chooses not to.

What does he want the guy to about and why does it even matter, cause no matter what WP says, people are going to ***** about him regardless,so i think not talking is the best thing he can do.imo

Nothing wrong w/ Wade not talking to the media. I really wish the whole team would take this approach.

But then Dcfanatic wouldn't have anything to talk about on his fanboy home show. NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. How could Archer think Wade will even be able to talk? Doesn't he know Jerry has a camera on him and his finger on the shock collar button at all times?

Every other coach talks at the combine. parcells was the one with the quircky go away till the draft attitude.

But every other coach is there talking and will talk all week, be on nfl network, do sirius radio shows....Its normal. This is where alot of guys will loosen up and talk.

and the longer wade waits to talk the worse it will be for him. He doesnt handle the media well to begin with, giving them some extra ammo for no reason should go over wonderfully. Now he has to answer questions about not answering questions.

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you theebs. I just don't think his silence matters all that much.

thats fine.

and considering his situatuation I guess the case could be made that nothing he does matters all that much, he is only finishing out the year. Which is probably another reason this scenario is playing out this way.

It matters only in that the media will attack him til no end for it.

They are going to do that anyway, now he gave them ammo.

A few minutes of his time yesterday or today and he could have respectfully answered questions about stuff that people are longing to hear about. Doesnt mean he has to talk about owens/stewart etc...but he could have at least talked a little and given the standard PC lines about the future.

Now he has taken something which many believed to be true, that he is just jerrys yes man and magnified it.

Now when he does speak he has to answer for that and the rest of the crap.

You are awful convinced that people HAVE to answer to the media.

I don't think he has to address anything he doesn't want to...

Actually i am not. I happen to like it when no one talks to the media. That has always been my stance.

The difference here is this group has loved to talk and loved to gloat.

Last year wade said two things that caused the media to get all riled up, after a 13-3 season.

1. The better team lost the playoff game

2. He got goated into saying get your ring finger ready.

So when training camp opened up it was filled with venom and guys wanting answers from such an arrogant guy. They went after him. It was the most absurd press conference ever to start last years camp.

Now this year he has the burden of jerry saying this was the best coaching staff ever here, the most exciting 12 months in the history of the organization, the failure of pacman, the controversy of owens real or percieved, the firings of brian stewart and bruce read, the mess that was the botched hiring of dan reeves.....etc...

So when he gets in front of the cameras and has to start answering for stuff it is going to be more absurd than last year.

I happen to think this would have been a good chance to simply talk about some of the stuff and get it out of the way and move on. Instead they have taken this perposterous idea of a gag order as a good move. Now that will be added to the list of nonsense. Now he is percieved as even more of a yes man clinging to his last ever head coaching job.

I almost feel sorry for wade, but I cant because I dont know like excuse makers who gloat when they win and pout and hide when they lose.

One question. Has anyone at all said this edict of silence with the media came from Jerry Jones? We all assume it did, but do our assumptions mean we are right?

What if it came from Wade? Then his silence is his own choice.

That's a great point Hos. For all we know, it was agreed upon by Wade and other coaches.

I thought that was obvious?

A few weeks ago at the senior bowl wade told reporters Rich Dalrymple, the p.r. director told him he couldnt do interviews.

Let that sink in.

Unless The P.R. director is in charge of The entire organization then I am going to go out on a limb and say it was jerry.

Ben N Skin have talked about this since the senior bowl almost daily, with the reporters he told it to. They have been asking everyone they talk to if they have ever heard of a coach taking orders from the P.R. Director before.

I concede that I forgot he mentioned Dalrymple.
