AUDIO: Brad Sham calls Marty B out

If he's in the middle of the pack, then he's attempting plenty of balls down field.

Again, I stated % of attempts, not completion %. As I've already stated, his completion % is low.

Please read more carefully.

I knew what you meant, I'm looking at avg number of throws per game of 21+ yds and compared that number to 12 other guys, and Romo's near the bottom of those 12.

It matches exactly what I said though, that most of our passes have been of the shorter variety. Almost all of our "long" gains have been short to intermediate throws turned into big plays with YAC.

Here is the actual pregame audio. Brad says it in passing, which means john garrett probably told him bennett isnt working hard enough. A big to do about nothing. It's at the 5:40 mark.

oh and I will say this. If the team is worried about his attention level, maybe they should blame themselves. During all of the their local TV shows, produced by blue star media they pump the crap out of marty b. They put up links to his youtube and twitter pages and he is in a commercial.

also, if you throw in the fact that Jerry said last week that he expects more from bennett, it sounds like someone in the organization wants him challenged publically. And since the head coach doesnt do that and the offensive coordinator rarely speaks, I guess it is on jerry.

hate to interrupt the crapfest going on, but just in case anyone wants to hear brad himself say what he said...there you go.

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever to look at average per game when you can look at a per attempts basis.

It matches exactly what I said though, that most of our passes have been of the shorter variety. Almost all of our "long" gains have been short to intermediate throws turned into big plays with YAC.
No, you said, "Short routes are pretty much all we've been running all year."

Which obviously is not true and has been proven statistically. We haven't been running an abnormally large or small amount of deep routes. We've been running about what you'd expect given our receivers.

*sigh*

Percentages, people. Percentages. These are passes thrown over 20 yards as a percentage of total attempts.

M. Ryan.............5.7%
C. Palmer...........6.0%
J. Cutler...........6.1%
T. Brady............6.3%
T. Romo.............6.7%
B. Roethlisberger...8.7%
E. Manning..........8.9%
J. Flacco...........9.3%

Yes, Romo is completely abnormal.

You picked 8 of the 12 on the list, and seemed to have conveniently left off the guys throwing the most down the field.

Like I said, tomorrow I will go through all 32 teams and see. But 2 pass plays per game that travel over 21 yds in the air seems like a small number.

You know what is funny, last year brad and larry brown got caught speaking candidly doing talking cowboys thinking they were off air and we heard brad and larry's honest opinion on your hero.

Turned out they were right.

so be careful.

"Great receiver who runs some of the sloppiest routes of anyone they'd ever seen." That was about it, wasn't it?

So when Garrett was saying he was targeting Champ Bailey continuously, it was because some other person was forcing him to do it?

Yeah it's pretty clear theo already had the math done, and it just happened to not have a couple of guys that were mentioned. the list still shows he's probably middle of the pack.

And the numbers in the other post show this is wrong.

Romo's PERCENT of attempts over 21 yds are WAY down from previous seasons.
