Wish I had an answer.
I hate a self appointed team spokeman. And some wonder why the offensive line hates him.

i cant get over that when I listen to him now.
Carpenter needs to shut up. His talking is part of what is wrong here.
If it wasnt so sad it would be funny.

The guy is a solid role player, that is what most people want around here not? More players that know their role?
He doesn't complain, just trys to get the job done.
RainMan;2590965 said:Is he really a solid role player? I guess he's an OK special teams player. But how many defensive snaps did he even get last year? Ten?

carp must have an "agenda" and be working with "ed werder" though because he didn't glowing praise the biggest whack-a-doo in sports
:laugh2:
FuzzyLumpkins;2591014 said:He is excellent on ST and really Wade never plays younger players. James Thomas and Burnett were the only people in the rotation and you look at how much players like Spencer, Austin, and the like were given and its pretty evident that Wade doesn't like taking chances to play a younger guy unless he has to like Bnenett or our corners. Even then when Pacman came back he was basically handed the starter spot back despite Jenkins playing better and Scandrick playing very well.
Henry gets to start if that doesn't tell you enough. I have said this in the past but if they would give Carp a chance like Parcells did his first year I think he will play well. He just hasn't gotten that chance. I have been saying this for awhile and I realize its unpopular but I will maintain my stance.
I was the same way with Austin and i know how that has turned out. Carp has been given two roles in his career. Starter at OLB as a rookie and ST since. he has played very well at both. I just don't buy that the guy forgot how to play football all of a sudden especially since he hasn't had a major injury.
jterrell;2591052 said:Are you taking medication? Barbie Carpenter is about as physical as Mike Jenkins. He has had some chances but he even sucks in the pre-season. And his defensive weaknesses are the kind of stuff not even a coach nicknamed cupcake forgives. Carpenter has been on the field due to injuries and limited scenarios and he is simply not able to go out and take on blockers at all.
Wade Phillips will play young guys when they are good. Scandrick was a 5th round rookie and played a ton. He played week 1 and EVERY game.
What was the last Cowboys first round draft pick to be inactive yet healthy on game days under 2 different head coaches?
I wanted us to draft Carpenter I thought he would be good here but he clearly didn't have the toughness his dad did. Way too much pretty boy in him to be a linebacker.
jterrell;2591039 said:rofl at you and any dufus who is trying to milk this as evidence of anything.
carpenter flat out sucks. he is not even active half the time.
this guy who is basically a glorified practice squadder is going to discuss anything? that is priceless.
what carpenter should do is go workout with t.o. in the summer and maybe then he could actually be able to live up to his draft hype.
t.o. does bring baggage... carpenter just brings a bag.

I don't know what Carpenter's cap hit would be, but in my opinion, when someone on your team is calling you "Barbie" and when Jerry Jones calls you a "finesse" player, the hand writing is on the wall.
