Does everybody forget that Romo was fixing to become an UFA???

We didnt have a choice to pay him a little now and then maybe a litte more later and then finally the big payday after he wins some playoff games.

The NFL does not work like that. We had to pay Romo "market value" or risk losing him in free agency. And if you guys dont think somebody would have thrown $67 million at Romo on the open market, then thats just being silly.

Freaking Javon Walker got $50 mill from the Raiders, so yall dont think Romo could get $67 million.......please.

We had to pay Romo his money or lose him to another team. There was no "lets pay a little now and then a little more later". This is really not that difficult a concept to understand, I am surprised Galloway cant figure it out.
I disagree. . I think Jerry should have waited until Romo won something before forking over the dough.

Look at it this way. If he had left for Detroit or someplace, we could have had a shot at drafting Joe Flacco and maybe won a PO game this year...

No, Romo went 13-3 and we would have drafted at 28

So you let your star QB walk away and you draft Brian Brohm or Chad Henne

Great move!!

no, all you have to do is bring in a good backup QB, so romo knows there is no more room for him to play around, goof off sometimes and not take things serously

just like when jimmy johnson drafted troy aikman, then he went out and got steve walsh in supplemental draft, that helped push aikman,

then, jimmy went and got steve buerelein, from the raiders, not sure how to spell his name right, but buerelein helped mentor aikman some,

competition is good, makes you realize if you mess up there is someone to take your place, thats exactly what romo needs

Yeah that was a BRILLIANT move by Jimmy picking Walsh in the supp. draft. All it cost us WAS THE #1 OVERALL PICK IN THE ENTIRE DRAFT!

Anybody that thinks Romo is not one of at least the top 10 QB's in the league is ridiculous.

Jimmy went and got Steve Buerlien in the offseason between 1990-1991 because of the Babe Laufenberg fiasco. Backup QB he could depend on was a stated priority after the Falcons loss kept the Cowboys out of the playoffs in Jimmy's 2nd season.

Dude, have you actually watched the Ravens play???

You do realize they dont ask Flacco to do jack, right? His job is to not lose the game and he is only asked to throw the ball is specific situations and only safe routes.

He passed the ball 11 times against the Titans in their playoff win. Romo passes that many times in just the 1st quarter!!!

And they would not have won either if it wasnt for the Titans having like 6 turnovers inside the red zone, including a fumble at the 1 yard line. The Titans had almost 500 yards of offense if I remember correctly and the Ravens had like half that. 95% of the time you lose the game with those stats.

The Ravens lead the NFL in rushing attempts if that better explains how they use Flacco........he is a bus driver and wouldnt last 3 games in Garret's Tecmo Bowl Shotgun Spread Offense.
