Ken Hamlin went on Sirius Radio yesterday to talk about the news that Terrell Owens and Roy Williams were released...

Ken Hamlin on Sirius Radio

He is saying the usual stuff about T.O. being a good teammate and I think for the most part he's being honest.

But the distraction part he's down playing because he's a friend of T.O.'s. You can't just say that the distractions the guy brings to the table aren't affecting the team.

Having to constantly play football in a circus environment has to change the way you do things somewhat. No matter if T.O. was looking for the media's attention or not it was coming his way based on the way he handled himself in the past.

Now I do agree that in the end it all comes down to what you do on the field. And clearly this team has a problem getting it done on the field in crunch time. But then the question of 'why can't this team get it done?' will be asked and that's where you see the owner of the team looking to make changes on the coaching staff and the roster in hopes of finding different results in the future.

This is the second guy to mention Roy's game being affected because of injuries. Now we know he had the broken arm, but I am wondering if there were some other injury situations going on with Roy that we didn't have the full story on.

And yeah, Roy was willing to go out there and play special teams which is a great thing. But it doesn't just dismiss the fact that he wasn't going to be worth his salary this season as a part time Safety and a part time special teamer. I think a change was the best thing for Roy right now.

So everyone that downplays the distraction TO caused is a liar and everyone that says it happened is telling the truth. Interesting.

Whats funny is when we had our biggest distraction of the year we went out and defeated the Former Champs (the Giants) in a must win game.

All the contreversy crap is mightily overrated and just another excuse for people not performing.

Defense go play defense.

Offense go play offense.

If you lose the game don't give me excuses. Bottom line is you lost.

.

No, they are just grasping at straws trying to make excuses for his poor play so he can have a shot at catching on somewhere else.

Someone explained that 80% of the time TO was great and thats the TO the defensive players saw since they had limited exposure to him.

hamlin sounds like a tool.

but then again players aren't objective about other players nor themselves most often.

these guys need a reality check

Yeah, because the only way he could be being objective is if he agreed with all the writers, sports reporters, and message board posters about T.O. If he, someone who spent all kinds of time with him in the locker room, disagrees with those notions, he must not be being objective.

Keep spinning it. I look forward to Romo's comments about how he's very disappointed Owens isn't returning. Obviously, it'll only be because he's "classy"...even when he mentions that he and Owens texted about it.

Jerry said he wasn't. Isn't that good enough for you?

It was about age, money and production. Is that so hard for you to believe?

Not a fan of Kenny anymore, not sure if it’s because his bottom jaw sticks out 6 inches from his mouth or maybe it’s all the missed tackles. Listen to Orlandos interview then listen to Kennys and you hear one guy that is hungry and one guy that is complacent.

Should we cut Romo because his relationship with Jessica is a distraction.

It kills me...the excuses .....its like the circus the media has caused is all TO fault and because of that this team underachieved.

When are we going to realize that this team is what it is......and the main problem is that this team needs to improve...getting rid of TO didnt make this team better....IMHO....

The media overhyped this circus.....and they got what they wished for....so far almost all players have supported Owens and downplayed the distractions......

I wonder what excuses will be made next year? Will we realize that this team lacks leadership.....that alot of players need to step up especially bubble boy Romo?

You notice how "everyone" is everyone on the defense. I havent heard anyone on the offense really say much but Hurd who admitted that Romo will be free to hit the open WR.

Actually, he put the onus on Garrett to do that, at least in the context of the way the media reported it.
