Maybe Jerruh is a little smarter then we think he is. He keeps lacewell around so that when Lacewell likes a player Jerruh knows to go the other way!!!!

That remains to be seen.

True but I would say early indication of Bennett, Felix, Scandrick and Choice look pretty darn good.

Na. Choice and Felix are studs. Scandrick will be a solid corner here for many years. Jenkins isn't going to be terrible. Bennett has a chance to be a good one, he improved more than any rookie from the beginning of camp.

08 was a great draft.

this is my thinking on jerry jones not wanting to get onto coaches

first with the firing of tom landry, jerry jones ran into a bumble bee, and realized he could have done a better job.

Now what alot of you dont know is this, and i didnt find it out later till about 7 years ago. But jerry jones did offer tom landry another position on the dallas cowboys team, just not head coach. Tom Landry turned that down. And yes, I know that from a former person that was on the board of the dallas cowboys, till later when jerry jones bought up his stock on the team.

So, jerry jones reallizing that he messed up firing tom landry, but should have let tom landry ride off into the sunset, and tom maybe should have done what landry said he wanted to do one time after being head coach. Landry said he wanted to be the head scout for scouting the opposing teams, break down those teams and report to the cowboys.

Then, when you hear that jerry jones said he probably fired gailey too soon.

Now at the same time, the players and coaches have to be gotten onto. The players have to just shut up and play, and quit their griping and complaining. No more excuses, shut up and play.

Yet, coaches like jason garrett must put together a better game plan, wade shouldnt have to wait till end of season to make changes. Like in the special teams department, or on the defensive side, when wade had to take over the defense. THERE SHOULD BE NO MORE EXCUSES, DO YOUR JOB COACHES AND PLAYERS, AND QUIT THE GRIPING AND SAYING EVERYTHING IS OK. YOU HAD IT EASY PLAYERS WITH NO HITTING IN PRACTICES FOR FIRST 25 DAYS LAST YEAR, TIME TO PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

I don't want Lacewell anywhere near jerry around draft time.

Exactly!

That is just a horror draft in the making.

I have never heard this. Interesting though. Not to be overly skeptical, but what other details can you provide?
Then, when you hear that jerry jones said he probably fired gailey too soon.

That's what happened the last time he listened to his players.

Now at the same time, the players and coaches have to be gotten onto. The players have to just shut up and play, and quit their griping and complaining. No more excuses, shut up and play.

The whole point is that has no business coming from the GM or the owner.

That should come from the head coach.

All I keep reading though is that the players have been twisting in the breeze. Phillips hasn't even addressed them. So who went to the "woodshed"? I haven't seen evidence of it.

It would be nice if Jerry Jones had this philosophy, but I have heard nothing from his mouth suggesting anything like it. He hates getting onto coaches, you know?

So to you, "getting on the coaches" means what--control?

To me, "getting on" the coaches has nothing to do with this. To me the extreme negative psychological characterizations of Jerry Jones do come into question if indeed he is reluctant to correct his coaches.

Emasculation is not the same thing as disciplining or staying on top of them like any effective manager. If you don't have the fortitude to keep your coaches in line then how can you be so controlling in nature. A controlling personality is one that is aggressive, focused, determined and has little fear of confrontation to make employees accountable or effect change.

Obviously, in your zeal to defend him, you lost focus of whatever primitive point you were trying to make. Primitive point, eh. So why don't you just come out and state I am a neanderthal. Don't hide behind your double word hard consonant fairy dust.

Liking to do something and feeling compelled to do it are completely separate things. Oh sure from a generalistic standpoint you can competently state that. But when you put that in the context of running this professional franchise your perspective does not apply. Your differentiation of "liking to do something" versus "compelled to do so" has no place in a high stakes performance environment of "having to do so".

No "hater" would ever accuse Jones of allowing the coaches to "control" him. Of course not, I was being facetious, if not sarcastic.

Oh look. Here is that agenda thing again. LOL That is not only nebulous but weak and by the way never laugh at your own joke, it lessens the impact.

And who exactly is saying Lacewell "wants to coach". Oh, you just made that up. I understand now.
Don't worry about your cognitive delay over me having sarcastically made that up with Lacewell wanting to be a head coach. By the way, I really admire people who are open about their afflictions and strive to overcome them.

What I want to know (not that Jerra would say) is whether the two discussed Miles Austin and MBIII.

Ah yes, the ole' "Jerry's problem is I want to win too much" spin job. He dusted off that classic?

Take heed, it works in just about any situation. The next time you're in a job interview and the interviewer asks you what your faults are just say "Well, I think my biggest fault is I'm a workaholic, and I almost work too hard." It never fails. People fall for it every time.
