Interesting.

A somewhat positive opinion from Laufenburg on Romo and not a reply to be seen for miles.

i constantly wonder why more shows do not have babe on. I have emailed bob sturm and asked him before and he told me babe is always too busy.

A couple of things.

It has to be a tough spot for newy having babe on. Newy is the sports director of channel 5 nbc and babe the same for cbs11, and babe has a romo interview for sunday. That means newy is promoting to people listening to his show to watch cbs11 on sunday night!!!????

odd.

you can always count on babe for great quotes and sayings.
Don shula...."we will tolerate you until we can replace you"!!!!!!

and his line on owens is classic. Maybe the best I have ever heard it put.

"owens burns down your house, then he calls the fire department and then he says thank god you guys came"

that maybe the best thing I have ever heard babe say.

Thanks, dc, for posting this. Babe's great.

I like what he has to say about Romo's read on the pick he threw in the PIT game. It's a good point.

Babe is too close with regard to Garrett, the question is not how Jason was so good at calling plays in 2007 and not so good in 2008, the question is IF he was so good in 2007 without assistance (according to Babe), how come he was so bad in 2008 without assistance when he should have been even better.

Babe completely discounts Tony Sporano's influence, the nature of the league in terms of figuring out a given offensive coordinator's tendencies and the fact that Jason was not given free reign last season.

Yes, maybe he received too much credit for last year and thus maybe he receives too much blame for this past season. However, even though Babe acknowledges that Garrett should receive some criticism, it seems as though he lets him off the hook way too easy.

I get that Jason is his friend but if he is discussing substantive issues with the team besides the same old TO crap, then be completely honest in your assessment. Jason was pretty bad all on his own last year.

That quote from the Eagles official that their lockerroom is just now recovering from the mess that TO made is depressing. I could see a similar "soft mutiny" in Dallas with TO's release, with TO's minions in the lockerroom moping and backstabbing Romo. Especially since we have the an overly "accommodating" organizational structure and a doormat, beta-male coaching staff that would let them get away with it. I've now just resolved myself to the fact that the only way TO's release would really work is if it coincided with a coaching change with a head coach that truly struck fear in the players that prevented any of the shenanigans we see here on a daily basis. I'm pretty much ready to just call 2009 a wasted year and hopefully this organization takes the medicine they need in 2010 with a new coaching staff and a new organizational outlook. It's like a junkie who won't go to rehab until he's hit rock bottom, I don't think Jerry is there yet.

I have a feeling your right IR. I am expecting the worst this yr as well.

2008 was a wasted season, and 2009 looks to be going down that road too. It's possible they could regroup and make a run next yr, but if I were betting I think we'll be closer to a 6-10/7-9/8-8 type season than a 12-4/13-3 kinda season.

I'm curious as to why some people keep saying this. Garrett wasnt on this team when Laufenberg was.

no they are close though dbair.

But it doesnt stop babe from questioning play calls and stuff.

its just that He is currently saying all the things people do not want to hear so they use it as a means to belittle what he says.

Great stuff DC. The part about Tony being relaxed and open to questions and then to see his body language and tone when asked about TO is revealing. Also when Babe said it was so obvious what was going on and he's absolutely convinced TO has to go must be gaining momentum among the organization.

Some people are predicting the team's 2009 record and we haven't even had free agency or the draft.

Of course, we all know those things don't matter as far as the outcome of football games.

Really good point. That hadn't struck me until now. Gawd, we need help.
