Hos, I am right there with you.

However, the comment that got Sham fired as a play-by-play man was over the top arrogant.

He was sticking up for Lard Butt Hansen during that pre-season game and he broke a code that you don't embarass your boss in public.

I agree Sham is a classy guy. But that day he allowed his emotions to get the best of him and paid for it by being benched for a season.
I didn't know Sham was fired. I thought he semi-retired and then came back.

Not being in Dallas to know the ins and outs sucks.

You can't see that of Verne Lundquist, Summerall, or Luksa can you?

I miss professional journalism. Todd Archer is my favorite of the DFW crew, by far. I think he can be even better than he already is.

If you are going old school Hos you cannot forget Blackie Sherrod!!!

"The Pittsburgh coach may be the only citizen in jockdom who changes expression less than Tom Landry, the well-known marble bust who supervises the Dallas Cowboy's from Olympus."

No way in hell can any of the ******s that pass for journalists today come up with anything as descriptive as what Blackie could write.
You just took me back to school man. You are 100% right. How could I? He and Jim Murray were two of my favorite sports writers.

Great point.

Well, one might make the argument that jounalists have over the last few decades become more powerful than they should be. Maybe to the point of influencing the last election. it could be debated.

Condoning the behavior of dennis is part and parcels with the prevalent thinking amongst the press that they are above reproach.

The mere fact that these sports jounalists vote on the Hall of Fame and they have never played the game, for the most part is astounding to me. I love this sport, but for me to actually think I understand it well enough to cast a vote is absurd.

How these Einsteins leave Jim Plunkett out of the Hall is amazingly stupid. His two SB wins override his interception/TD ratio.

I once heard Galloway bragging on the air about a player that called him out for a comment he made in an article.

He had the temerity to say, "Buster, I was here before you got here and will be here long after you are gone."

It was at that point that Galloway became a smll voice to me.

I am not suggesting Dennis is right in the way he handled it. But as society becomes more blood thirsty and wanting more dirt dished on the heroes of today, the more this will not only be accepted, but it will escalate.

The press will deliver the pound of flesh the fans want.

Frankly, I grew up when Mickey Mantle was a hero and his drinking was kept quiet.

I miss those days.
Bold--> Well said, my friend. Well said.

Bold--> I hate to say it, but I have to agree 100%. At some point in time, it will eventually reach a flashpoint. History has repeatedly taught humanity that the more **** you throw at common decency, the greater the likelihood it will one day boomerang back--thicker and messier than before. I hope that I will be blessed to live long enough to see that day.
