Austin and Lee could return this week

Do we need them? We got this winning streak without them. I only want Lee on the field when he's 100% and we don't need to add Austin's mistakes to the ones we already have to overcome to win. I just want to make sure these guys will be assets and not liabilities.

Austin really wasn't playing a big role before, and with the addition of Cooper I can't see him playing a big role now. I expect he will simply be an occasional wrinkle in the offense and maybe return punts. Lee is a more interesting predicament. I hope he just becomes part of a rotation, and maybe takes the snaps that are now going to Wilson, but I doubt they will limit him that much.

I'd love a gadget, scatback, punt returner in the 4-5 next year.

Besides Tyreek Hill obviously, Cohen from Chicago is a nice player to have. Sproles was another of one these guys. 4-5 round.

I think they might be even more valuable here behind Zeke, and the fact that really any decent return game would help.

So they give Lee his job back, but didn't give it to Romo? Interesting.

Big difference is that we rotate our linebackers and play more than one. We don't rotate the quarterback.

Yeah but sometimes they get damaged and never recover or reach that potential. You want the ones like Cooper who actually produced and the team was good at one point.

The less they produced, the less they'd cost.

Whether productive or not, it's reasonable to think their is unrealized and untapped value in Raider players.

Probably just keep that door open in case of injuries.

Who knows.

I don't want to speculate too much.

The ankle injury being a cover up and him not loving football are coming from people close to the team in the media.

If Irving really doesn't play this year, I'll go with that theory. A high ankle sprain should not take that long to heal.

I wonder if the team could be talking him down with rumors because they want to sign him again next year.

Austin was our most productive WR per target, and he's a more credible threat for the jet sweep that we continue to run with Lewis. I want him back. He's a better complement to the offense on 1st and 2nd than Beasley.

With Lee and his hammy, I don't see rushing him back until he's healthy, and particularly for the Colts game, which I'd be inclined to use to get guys healed up anyway.

Because he is going to come back and play, and do really well. This fanbase is messed up with all kinds of speculation and overreaction.

I would play him when he's available. I don't expect him to be that much of an addition. He wasn't here to practice. But sure, play him.

But my response was questioning why not IR, *if* you don't want to play him?

every time I see Lee and Austin in the same injury threads, I think of Steve Austin, the $6M man that all types of things wrong with him until he got better

the actor that played Steve Austin is "Lee" Majors....coincidence?

....I digress.....

We should know more about Irving if he participates in practice tomorrow.
