Austin Misses With Hamstring Injury
Austin Misses With Hamstring Injury

Fourth-year receiver Miles Austin will miss tonight's preseason finale against Minnesota with a hamstring injury.

Austin apparently did not finish Wednesday's practice, the team's final workout before leaving for Minneapolis. His status going forward is not yet clear.

Austin missed almost all of the summer OTA and mini-camp practices because of a hamstring injury as well. Also missing those practices was fellow fourth-year receiver Sam Hurd, who is again nursing the quad injury that cost him the summer.

Starters Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton will not play tonight either. The Cowboys are starting rookie Kevin Ogletree and third-year wide out Isaiah Stanback.

Wow I wish the Jets would've given us a 2nd rounder for this guy. Can't help us if he can't stay on the field.

Austin as far as I am concerned, is maybe a #5 receiver on this team. Absolutely undependable. Looks like the Cowboys will have to carry 6 WRs just to keep 4 dressed.

Did you have some money on the game?
Seems odd to find out about a player injury two days after the fact. This is the interwebs. Speed of light and all that jazz.

I am pretty down on Hurd, Stanback and Austin. These guys show flashes and always seem to end up in the training room with nagging little injuries.

Austin 3a.

Hurd 3b.

Ogletree 3c.

Pretty much sums it up. By week 2, Ogletree could be 3a.

At this rate we are going to need to keep 6 WRs, Im just hoping number 6 is someone released from another team and not Stanback.

If he playing like he has been I wouldnt be opposed to it. He is only going to get better.

Hello Isaiah Stanback. Could this be why they say they may keep 6 WRs?

same old same old. I agree with DoomsdaY: these three young WRs are always hurt: ALWAYS. I'm not counting on any of them personally. If RW,Crayton, Ogletree, witten, Marty B., Felix and MB 3 can stay healthy.....good enough for me.

I sure wish this idiot coaching staff would have heard my cries back when reputable reliable veteran WRs were available.......

Flush this coaching staff/WR pool down the toilet at the end of the season and start over......

Bennett is like another WR anyway. If Stanback makes this team I'll be so disappointed.

It probably is a last preseason game pull? No need to send him out there.

Water is wet. Hurd and Austin durability may force 6 recievers.
