Technically, we can only face Minnesota in the divisional round. If the Packers win, they can only face NO in the divisional round.

there is no "technically". If we win we go to Minnesota. 100% chance.

and the above is not true. if the eagles win, they go to new orleans 100%. so the pack could play minnesota if the eagles win.

A week ago, I was not scared at all facing the Eagles back-to-back.

Now, I'm really nervous. The "it's hard to beat a team 3 times in a season" talk and the fact that Eagles will want revenge. Eagles actually missed a lot of chances offensively today: McNabb could have easily knotted the score up 7-7, but overthrew Jackson.

And the penalties just aren't going away. How bad are the Eagles banged up, and is Terrence Newman alright? Did he come back in the game? What's the word on Romo's back?

I don't care whether you're nervous. As long as the players aren't nervous. And I feel they have the confidence that if they beat Philly twice they can beat them thrice.

This is a season of exorcizing demons.

T.O. gone? Check.
Romo limits turnovers? Check.
December slump? Check.
Beating a team three times after failing to take care of the Giants two years ago? _________

You have to beat a really good team no matter what so it doesn't really matter. You have to beat good teams at this time of year so I'm all for ending Philly's season.

ive never been one to get into all the beat 3 times in a row tuff hype. ive always felt that the team with the most heart, and the most agressive and hungry team with the best game plan would win. 1st or 3rd game the best team will win

We are the bigger, faster, better and more physical. We physically beat the Eagles both times this year and I expect more of the same next week.

On the Cowboy's post-game show they just showed the NFL numbers. The NFL had the situation 30 times since its existence and teams are 18-12 when faced with the possibility of beating a team 3 times in a season. The Cowboys are 0-2.

I was nervous the last time with the Giants, but I'm not nervous about this team. We will beat the Eagles again. This is not the same team as 2007 or 2008.

^^^This.

Look, if we beat Philly next week and knock them out of the playoffs, we'll have beaten one of the 3 hottest teams in the NFL ( the other two being San Diego and the Packers). You HAVE to beat those kind of teams to get to the Super Bowl any way! I don't think the Vikings or the Saints can beat us. And, no, I'm not kidding. The ONLY team I'm concerned about is Green Bay. If we win next week and the Cardinals find a way to beat Green Bay, I think our chances of going to the Super Bowl go up to about 65%. I'll take those odds. Just kill Philly and take care of business after that.

It bothered me that their receivers were able to get so open, but then it occurred to me that Ratliff and Ware didn't exactly bring their A games either.

That was fine for this week, but next week those two need to own the field. CONSTANT pressure...85 Bearish pressure.

There is no backup plan, there is no either/or. Those two need to tear Donovan's *** up for Dallas to win.

Then we don't have to worry about their receivers or our safeties.

The media will yap about Romo, but the two studs up front will tell the story.

63% success rate (12/19).

The cant win 3 in a row is just a myth.

You need to look at this game as an opportunity. The opportunity to know them out of the playoffs and end their season like they ended ours last year. Sure they want revenge but by the end of the game their receivers wanted no part of catching a football in our secondary. As far as the penalties go, let's just hope the Ron Winters crew won't be officiating our game. If we get another crew for next weeks game we should be okay in that area. We have been doing a better job the last few weeks.

The more I think about it, the more jacked up I am about the thought of the Boys playing the Eagles on Saturday.

...they were definitely "out-physicaled" and we've seen this from the secondary since the Atlanta game...i agree about the Winters crew, those guys are real sticklers...today's beating may give the Cowboys a psychological edge next saturday...

...i'm thinking we will probably see two things from Philly next weekend...ball-control and blitzing...McDermott should've seen enough today to realize that Romo will eat them alive with just zone coverage...but even then they could'nt stop three receivers from hitting nearly 100 yds each, not to mention two RB's with nearly 100 yds each...Crayton, Witten and Austin looked lethal today as the offense torched Philly for nearly 500 yards...and the only way the Eagles were able to win the last time they gave up 500 yards was by outscoring the opposing team...even then they almost lost...don't let the pundits fool you, this is'nt Jim Johnson's defense anymore, rest his soul...

They'll probably come out running to keep some sort of control of TOP but Philly lives for the big play and the offense is less interested in going the methodical and patient route...you could sense this today...they could'nt get the big-play machine going and they sputtered to a halt...you can tell that they are an offense that is used to having its way with a defense...they seemed absolutely crushed by the end of the game...

Andy Reid is going to get it big time from the media for not running the ball more...he has that Martz-like tendency to lean on the passing game when he's uncomfortable...

Unless Philly suddenly becomes comfortable with something the Cowboys love to make them do, namely ball-control, then their second trip to Arlington could end with a similar result...

My favorite thing about the game was post-game with Romo. He basically said that we need to expect the Eagles to go all out next week. Let's hope he takes that mentality and spreads it across the team. We can't get too confident with the win. The Eagles are still very dangerous.

That's the only way we would face the Packers, at Dallas in the NFC Championship. Cowboys will have to face either the Saints or Vikings if they win next week. Packers will have to face either the Saints or Vikings if they win next week.

Still, how is Romo and Newman?

If we win we go to Vikings no matter what because we're the highest seed.

#1 seed plays lowest seed, #2 plays the highest seed.

If the 4 or 5 seed makes it to the NFC Championship and we make it than we get the home game.

4 and 5 seed would be Arizona and Green Bay of course.

Ive been saying all year that the only teams that were better than/as complete as us are the colts and vikings..(possibly the bengals but they arent ready) other than than that we match up with everyone. That is the reason why I was so frustrated with garret and the offense earlier this year. We were/are better than the broncos, giants, packers, and the chargers. We are finally putting it together, and if we can put up 21 to 24 points and romo continues not to turn the ball over we can/will beat anyone.

Guys im fearless too but readin your opinions i think we will win, WINNING THE SUPERBOWL will be super, we can draw the record of the steelers in the next season, but Im not sure if we will see the confident Romo that we are seeing in the last games.... he has bad experiences in playoffs and the coach has a 0-4 record, well the music city miracle was just bad lucky but a loss at all.

Cowboys will face the Vikings if they win next week. They are the 3 seed. The 2 seed (Vikings) has to face the highest seed.

I think the playoff game will closely resemble the first game in Philly with McDermott blitzing his *** off. What was the blitz percentage the first game 60%? The problem for the Eagles "been there done that". They have to be scared to death of Witten, because there LBs can't cover Witten so one of there safeties has to come up and cover him leaving Miles one on one. McDermott will have to pick his poison; play zone and hope his four man rush gets to Romo, or blitz and hope your corners can hang long enough to get to Romo. McDermott has to be shaking his head tonight.

For the next game I say we blitz the hell out of them. Basically we just rushed four for the most part tonight. If we get early pressure on McNabb I can see a lot of balls being thrown out of bounds and into the turf. I have a very good feeling about this playoff game.

...well it's that ability to only rush four but still generate 4 sacks a fumble and good pressure...this is how the Giants won a superbowl two years ago...the gameplan was similar in the first meeting and Philly still could'nt solve the riddle...i must say that the Dallas secondary has really impressed me down the stretch...the defense giving up an average of only 9.2 ppg in the last four is particularly dominant especially considering three of the teams were playoff contenders with high-powered offenses [Woodson can eat it]...the defense has chosen a good time to enter the realm of elite performance...of course it could all come undone next weekend but man they were good today...
