You need to look at this game as an opportunity. The opportunity to know them out of the playoffs and end their season like they ended ours last year. Sure they want revenge but by the end of the game their receivers wanted no part of catching a football in our secondary. As far as the penalties go, let's just hope the Ron Winters crew won't be officiating our game. If we get another crew for next weeks game we should be okay in that area. We have been doing a better job the last few weeks.
The more I think about it, the more jacked up I am about the thought of the Boys playing the Eagles on Saturday.
...they were definitely "out-physicaled" and we've seen this from the secondary since the Atlanta game...i agree about the Winters crew, those guys are real sticklers...today's beating may give the Cowboys a psychological edge next saturday...
...i'm thinking we will probably see two things from Philly next weekend...ball-control and blitzing...McDermott should've seen enough today to realize that Romo will eat them alive with just zone coverage...but even then they could'nt stop three receivers from hitting nearly 100 yds each, not to mention two RB's with nearly 100 yds each...Crayton, Witten and Austin looked lethal today as the offense torched Philly for nearly 500 yards...and the only way the Eagles were able to win the last time they gave up 500 yards was by outscoring the opposing team...even then they almost lost...don't let the pundits fool you, this is'nt Jim Johnson's defense anymore, rest his soul...
They'll probably come out running to keep some sort of control of TOP but Philly lives for the big play and the offense is less interested in going the methodical and patient route...you could sense this today...they could'nt get the big-play machine going and they sputtered to a halt...you can tell that they are an offense that is used to having its way with a defense...they seemed absolutely crushed by the end of the game...
Andy Reid is going to get it big time from the media for not running the ball more...he has that Martz-like tendency to lean on the passing game when he's uncomfortable...
Unless Philly suddenly becomes comfortable with something the Cowboys love to make them do, namely ball-control, then their second trip to Arlington could end with a similar result...
