He's a keeper...period! He's raw now but DEFINITELY a development project. Reminds of the Packers DE from the early 2000's (of African descent as well) nicknamed "KGB". He was raw at first but turned into a Probowl monster. I don't know if there is room on this roster for Kamara unless we release a veteran. I can only hope that he makes it to the practice squad. He consistently gets pressure on the QB. Is a little light in the behind weight-wise, but can easily put on 20+ lbs of muscle.

Haven't really watched his special teams play...I just notice how much burst he has at the snap and his ability to get into the backfield. As I said, he's raw...now. But give him a good year of development (and more time in the weight room) and he will definitely be competing for 2nd place on the DE depth chart next year!

maybe if this team was 3-4 defense coached team. this guy is talented but i dont think our scheme and his size mixes well.

He’s very light is my concern.

He will be a PS again.
I think because they used him as a DE, there is too much depth for him to crack the 53.

However he had been listed as a LB as well. I think they need to keep him there, and he could push Gifford.
The downfall of many good athletes with "position flex" as the call it, are ruined by this team because they move them around too much. Just let them be good or very good at one potion, instead of mediocre at best at 2 position.
It is very rare a player can do 2 at once.
I think this is the reason that screwed up Crawford so much. He could have been decent, at DE or DT, but the content switch did not allow it.

I hope he makes the team but I doubt it.

He could be a nice situational player and work in some packages on obvious passing downs but I think he probably gets cut and makes our PS again.

The staff doesn't need any help from us to make their personnel decisions.

Azur Kamara is a LB who can be fairly useful as a pass rusher, if need be.

He's raw but could prove useful, if the staff agrees to give him the chance.

He's listed as 6'3", 245. It's good for a LB and light for a DE. Maybe a LB,
if the staff sees fit to utilize him in that capacity. If not, ST is possible, too.

He'll be one of the guys they protect on the practice squad all season. I think each team can protect up to 4 players each week. He and Mukwamu will be protected all year. Maybe even called up at some point.

before that he will be free to sign with any team,if he clears waivers he can be put on PS .

I thought they were going to make him a LB. He was a hybrid DE/LB in college. I don't think he was on the PS last year, pretty sure he was on the IL, so he didn't get reps last year, only meetings and conditioning. He was at the 2020 Senior Bowl and had a good game if I recall correctly. The one highlight I remember is him almost catching a WR/RB from behind after a play downfield (and he was in the backfield).

I don't think he makes the active roster but probably gets to to PS. I don't think others will claim him (unless the Jets keep losing DL- they might have to claim everyone).

His shot will be STs to make the team imo. You know how he's done there?
I mean while I agree if he's a player I don't care that he can't play special teams. I find a way to keep a guy like that. That being said, I'm not sure if he's that type of talent that you allow him to take a roster spot up without playing special teams but I love his story and while raw I think he's determined to play in this league.

Good info, thanks. He's definitely got good speed and there's lots of competition at both DE and LB. He'll likely be hard pressed to make the active roster but it's anyone guess if they'll find a spot on the ST unit or otherwise, the PS. He seems to have sufficient talent to hang onto. We'll see if the staff sees him as someone they'd like to take a chance on and/or rid themselves of someone else in so doing. The available talent seems plentiful this year. Perhaps the upcoming preseason games and practices will help the staff to decide who deserves to stick around. We surely aren't devoid of options. :)

great story and I hope the best for the kid but I see him strictly as a PS guy. He's here for hybrid DE/LB depth in case of multiple injuries at either position.

Dude has some natural ability but needs to add some serious weight if we wants to play DE
When I saw him on Hoard knocks with his number and size I thought he was a LB camp body. Then I saw they had him lined up as SDE I was like this kid does not have a prayer.

Yea, I agree. Just saying since the starters are set, and maybe even the 2nd string guys too due to draft/blooming(Armstrong?) the way he can make the 53 is if he stands out on STs and obviously has that potential to become a more refined edge/LB in the near future.

Crawford could have been an above average DT, as DE maybe he could have been a more run stuffing DE, he was horrible as a pass rushing DE, they tried that with him early on in his carrier he just does not have the burst and suddenness you expect from a pass rushing DE. But yes the positional flex made him a JAG.
