B/R ranks the worst trades in history

its a great trade, most people choose not to understand it.
hard to call it great because they did it 1 week before the start of regular season !!
Also it killed this years chance of getting to playoffs, and resulted in dallas having what seems to be the worst defense ever !!
Also more time is needed to properly evaluate it.

It’s not even remotely close to one of the worst trades in history. And this is coming from someone who wanted to re sign him.

Imagine if we were the Titans. Imagine if we traded AJ Brown and then Jerry fired Vabrel.

That is an infinitely worse scenario than trading Micah for 2 1s and a good DT.

lol how can you not have Babe Ruth to the Yankees? This should be called top 20 all time worst trades with a heavy recency bias and as long as it is something I kind of remember without thinking too hard about it

How about all the QB's that won SB's after another team traded them, this list is silly. The Parson trade needs time

This is like "Ranking the Worst Drafts in History" and including the 2025 draft.

This is a premature compilation.

Well I don't think Babe was alive this century ;)

Never ceases to amaze me when people don't bother reading the article and then say its stupid.

As stated a few times in this thread.. it's from 2000

This is just my opinion, and I agree it is next to impossible to grade the trade at this time. However, something tells me that when it's all set and done, both Jerry and Micah will wish they had found a way to work things out. In other words, they both will ultimately regret the trade.
I feel the exact opposite. I think it turns out to be good for us.

Why would the Parsons trade not be on the list? Not only did we get a poor return, it pulled the rug from our feet right at the start of the season!

I was listening to the Locked on Cowboys mid season review podcast earlier with Mosher and McCool. They are 2 writers who are very fair and say it how it is and they both hate the trade for multiple reasons.
Because we didn't get a poor return.

Maybe its right.

But this the opinion of some random dude named Lee Escobodo.
Not a survey of NFL 50 current or former GMs….or even 500 fans.

One random dude with a laptop

May as well ask anyone here what their list is

The Expos trading Randy Johnson didn't make the list? I don't follow baseball but was scrolling on X and I saw the 'what were they thinking' trade. I know nothing about baseball. But Randy Johnson seemed really, really good.

Mariners traded Mark Langston and Mike Campbell to the Expos in late May of 1989 for Randy Johnson, Gene Harris and Brian Holman.

Lol, that's ridiculous. Maybe for the Packers.
Considering Micah's stats are trending to be his worst in the 5 yrs in the league and his pressure rate is the same across all years he has been in b the league... who knows, maybe he is injured, maybe lack of training camp, or maybe it's transitioning to a new team... but if not for the AZ game, his stats aren't even average.

The Herschel Walker trade didn't make it?
The Falcons trading Bret Favre didn't make the list?

Paul George created a dynasty lol….we’ve literally seen the end result. Lakers with Luka have stunk. No way in hell are they comparable people want it to be because of Luka. Sga is arguably the best player in the NBA. They are still trading for him to this day. It’s the Hershel Walker deal of the NbA
SGA was a sophomore reserve PG prospect when he was traded. Would SGA be the player he is today if he stayed with the Clippers? Who knows? Luka was a 25 year old future hall of fame PG before he was traded to the Lakers. When the Clippers-Thunder trade went down yes it was steep, but George was a 28 year old all-star back then. It was a bad gamble, but I wouldn’t put the trade as a top 5 worst tbh.

Trust me the defense wouldn't be that much different if Micah was here... maybe 29 vs 31.

The important thing is that the Packers continue to lose.

It doesn’t matter what SGA was 6 years ago. It doesn’t matter what he was as a Clipper. It’s what he is today. And today that is the worst trade we’ve seen in all of sports since Hershel Walker. Not only did they give them Jalen Williams and SGA but they are still trading lol. They still owe them a 2026 draft pick lol. Luka trade was stupid but what the Clippers did was like the Mavs treading Luka and 3 first rounders for Paul George.
