And read the other posts, I have said romo after the pump fake probably should have thrown it somewhere else, but when owens makes the move to the sideline he has position and if he finishes the route he at least breaks it up.
It isn't probably, he should not have thrown the ball at all. The route was to the corner and TO clearly pointed out TP.
and the sf defense in the second video is the same. Corner, slot corner safety over the top, he ran it to the sideline and up.
He ran it to the sideline, slowed down and hesitated, like he did against the Steelers, then broke the play, by going long. Also pay attention to the fact that the play didn't work even when they ran it against the 49ers.
Also, the Steelers safety was playing differently than the SF safety, who pretty much touched him within 5 yards and let him run. Number 30 on the 49ers released him way too early, while the Steelers safety had him blanketed even upto the point he made his cut. TP had nothing to worry about from the inside. He knew the break was coming to the corner. When TO made his cut, he looked for the ball, hesitated on the pump-fake of TR, turned around and saw TP right in his path. TP already had excellent positioning when Romo made the throw. That is a sign that the defense knows what is coming and they play it properly. There is a reason the Steelers defense was number one in the NFL. They play the proper coverages right. That is why they had the easy INT.
Even Singletary mentioned that even when they played TO at the line, they let him get a free release too early. They would simply touch him and let him run by. This was just one instance which exemplifies the whole point that Singletary was making.
I am just confused how romo is to blame when the wr broke it off to the sideline and the qb sees that and see's he has position and throws it, but the wr stops? I dont get it.
First of all, TO points it out. Secondly, TO hesitates on the pump, turns to run to the sideline, but TP is standing right in front of him making a break to an obviously already thrown ball. The Steelers had the play call right. They knew it was coming from the very beginning. It is called playing a defense as it should be played.
but I didnt expect you to say owens did anything wrong, you would never do that.
and isnt he always whining about getting the ball? And if so isnt this perfect proof of what happens when you give him opportunities?
This argument is pathetic. TO said the scheming sucks. Tony Romo said the scheming sucks. Defenses said they knew what was coming. Wat you have provided is clear examples of defenses knowing what was coming. If TO didn't think scheming had nothing to do with it, he wouldn't have mentioned it all year long. In the third clip against the 49ers, the Cowboys got a blitz and single coverage on TO up at the line, which is a totally different situation, and guess what. TO scored.
Garrett can sure call a good game when the defense singles TO and Tony Romo buys time with his feet...
