I used to think that, too, and then Waters replaced him and I gained a new appreciation for Babe.

Yep. I used to really enjoy Hansen/Sham yrs ago, but Hansen has gone senile and obnoxiously cynical so Babe is the best choice out there.

If the ragu theory applies anywhere, its that Cowboy Fans have grown up on momma's sunday sauce their entire lives and take it for granted, because they've never had to eat Ragu.

Considering I grew up in the Metroplex, I guess Momma's Sunday sauce was watching the Cowboys on TV instead of the radio. :)

Brad Sham could have any radio play by play gig he wanted, it just so happens that at 57 years old he's happy staying in Dallas and doing Cowboy games. When he and Jerry briefly split ways in 1996, it took about five minutes for CBS Radio/Westwood One to hire him to do their nationally broad casted Sunday Night games. He still fills in to do nationally broadcasted Westwood One games if he's not predisposed by the Cowboys. He's won the National Sportscasters award the maximum number of times allowed.

If the ragu theory applies anywhere, its that Cowboy Fans have grown up on momma's sunday sauce their entire lives and take it for granted, because they've never had to eat Ragu.

Glad to see Babe back in the booth, as it should be. Charlie Waters was not good. Just because you have a great football mind doesn't necessarily mean you're good at verbalizing what you're thinking on the fly.

I agree... we are spoiled with the likes of Brad Sham. There is none better in the business and he does multiple sports for Westwood One, and he does them all very well...

Any member on here can do a search and find opposing fans that ask who that broadcaster for Dallas is as they thought he was terrific...

He and Babe together are a great team. I look forward to this season...

Sham is play by play, he's not supposed to be Harry Carey.

What was the name of the temporal announcer Dallas had in 1995 instead of Sham? He was not a good fit.

If you want genuinely annoying radio announcers take a listen to the 49ers and Steelers booths, not only is my disdain for them compounded by their rivalries with Dallas but the men have genuinely annoying voices.

How could someone dislike Brad Sham's game analysis and keen sense of Cowboys history?? You're kidding right?

I don't like Brad Sham. I think we see what I call "The Ragu Effect" with Brad Sham and most Cowboys fans. If all you have ever had was Ragu spaghetti sauce, then you will think Ragu is good never having tried a truly good sauce. (I find this all the time with Hotel reviews on Trip Advisor)

I find Brad Sham bland and boring. I think he is a very nice guy and I like him as a person, but I don't like him as the Cowboys announcer.

You are nuts my friend!

Brad Sham is the Vin Scully of the NFL.
